Cold Weather & Recess
We’ve had a lot of families ask if they should send snow gear backs to school during this stretch of COLD weather. The quick answer to that is YES. Here are the reasons:
When the Feels Like temperature is 0 and above, we will be going outside for recess. When the Feels Like is below 0, outdoor recess will be reduced or we will shift to indoor recess. We’ve had a lot of indoor recess this week. It may not feel like 0 at lunch-recess, but it might for 2nd recess. We all know how important fresh air is, especially when you’ve been stuck inside…looking at all the snow you wish you could play in...
Buses can and do breakdown. Not that breakdowns happen often, but with these temps - you just never know.
We don’t plan Fire/Evacuation Drills on freezing days. However, if we need to leave the building for an extended period of time, having snow gear will help.
It’s good to stick with the habit of bringing your snow gear to school every day. We all know how easy it is to get out of a habit when we miss a day or two. Just think about those New Year’s Resolutions...
Yes, the snow gear bags can be heavy. View them as a little workout. Keep thinking about those New Year’s Resolutions. :)

Here are some of the topics that will be addressed:
a comparison to neighboring districts

Please plan to attend if you would like to gain information or share your thoughts about this topic and its impact at Kettle Moraine.
5th Grade Musical
As we prepare for the upcoming Pirates the Musical, we wanted to reach out and share that we have created an Amazon wish list to make it easier for those who are interested in supporting the concert. The wish list includes various supplies and props that our 5th-grade students will need for their performance. If you or anyone you know would like to contribute, please feel free to check out the wish list. Your generosity would greatly enhance the experience for our students.
Thank you for your continued support, and please reach out if you have any questions.
