Hello and Happy New Year!
We're excited to share some news about the creation of a school-based video series called "Shooting Stars." This series will showcase brief video clips covering a range of topics, including school procedures, habits, and other helpful tips. With so many fantastic things happening at Cushing, this is a neat way to spotlight those happenings while simultaneously keeping our school community informed and engaged. This video series also supports our work around our communications goal focusing on informing families of ways to further support their child(ren) at home.
The first video in this series features some of our 4th grade students here at Cushing and focuses on Winter Recess Success Stories. We hope you enjoy learning while also seeing the awesome things going on here at Cushing!

For high school boys and girls, keep an eye out for information coming from your head coaches on what’s new for you
For youth boys and girls, we will be getting a much needed (and frequently requested) uniform upgrade. This includes not only new uniforms, but also a practice pinnie and shooter shirt in each pack. Sign up now and watch for details on attending a Try-On event in the near future to get a new uniform that fits properly. If you don’t sign up, you may miss this information for the Try-On fitting event.

RSVP NOW! Learn more about four-year-old kindergarten in the Kettle Moraine School District! This annual event is fun and informative for young learners and their families. Kettle Moraine’s 4K program strives to build a strong foundation for lifelong learning! Providing this programming to our community is an integral way to connect our youngest learners and families to our school district and prepare them for Kindergarten.
The event will feature a supervised 4K room so kids can interact and play while parents speak with educators, principals, and directors from our 4K programs. The open house format features booths from each of our elementary sites and wrap-around care partners, allowing you to find the right option for your family.
Watch for the next issue of the Communicator to learn more about learning targets in KM4K and how this experience prepares children for school, helps them develop social skills, and provides them with lots of exercise and engagement!

Jump Rope Club
The course will include learning to jump rope, skill challenges, team jump roping and at the conclusion of the course a jump rope show for parents.
Course will focus on fun, exercise and learning new challenges. Course is intended for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. The jump rope show at the end will include a 1-3 min jump rope performance with a team to music. The students will be working on this throughout the course. Enrollment is limited. Cushing After School Spanish
The road to Spanish language learning success begins with this all new and exciting 8 week Spanish adventure. Join us as we jet set off to the bustling city of Madrid Spain. This class will energize and motivate students to learn useful vocabulary about sports, health and pastimes - all in Spanish. Join us Thursdays after school. Aerobics
Need that extra push to get started on an exercise program? Make it easy by joining the longest running aerobics class in the Lake Country area. For over 30 years we’ve been getting this community into shape and making friends at the same time. We’ve perfected our routines so they work for anyone of any age or fitness level. Calm and Chairful Yoga
In Calm and Chairful Yoga, participants perform a series of gentle and fluid movements, stretches, and breathing exercises while seated on a stable chair or using it for balance and support.
