Due to the Decathlon on Wednesday, October 9th, there is a change to the Hot Lunch Menu Choices. The “Grab & Go - Lunch on the Run” will be the ONLY choice that day.
Homecoming Spirit Week 2.0
With the change in Homecoming Week at KMHS, we’re excited to announce that we’ll be hosting another Spirit Week to align with the high school festivities from October 7th to October 11th!
Monday, October 7: Sports/Jersey Day
Wear your favorite sport/player jersey
Tuesday, October 8: Favorite Season Day
Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter. Maybe you prefer Pumpkin Spice season. Which one do you think is the best?
Wednesday, October 9: Decathlon Day
Wear your Decathlon t-shirt (they will be distributed to students soon).
Thursday, October 10: Inside Out Day
Do you wear your clothes inside out OR do you dress up as one of the Inside Out characters? You decide.
Friday, October 11: KM/Cushing Spirit Day
Show your Cushing/KM pride!
Dress as Your Favorite Book Character Day AND Buddy Class Day! - October 31
On Thursday, October 31, dress as your favorite book character! If possible, bring the book of your character to share with your buddy and read together. For students who don’t dress up, you should still bring a book to read with your buddy. More details will be shared as the day gets closer. (If you don’t know what Buddy Class Day is, your child will be able to give you the scoop.)
School Bus Safety Reminders
With October upon us we here at Dousman Transport Company will dedicate a week to go over bus Evacuations with all the students that ride our buses. This will help prepare all students in the event of an emergency.
With Safety as our number one priority, we wanted to send out a few important safety reminders.
If you need to walk down the road or get your mail, please wait until the bus pulls away. Never walk down the side of the bus. There are many blind spots on a bus, and we need to make sure we can see each student that has departed the bus before we pull away.
These few safety tips will help our drivers to ensure each, and every student gets to and from school safely.
Cushing Family Directory
The PTO Family Directory is now available to Cushing families. When you log into your Parent Portal, you will find the link to access the directory under the Announcements tab.
A password is required to open the Directory. Password: cushing2425
Please note, the Parent Directory is only available on the desktop version of the Parent Portal. It is not available through the app.
Lunch / Recess Supervisors Needed
We are currently looking for lunch/recess supervisors to join our team! This is a great opportunity to get involved at Cushing Elementary and make a difference in our students' day.
Hours: 10:45 AM - 1:30 PM (can be flexible)
Flexible Days: Whether you can help all 5 days or just a few, we’d love to have you!

Picture Retakes - October 17
Empire Photography will be here in the morning on Tuesday, October 10th for picture retakes. If your learner is making a funny face and you want a re-do or if your learner did not get their picture taken at Great Start Conferences, fill out THIS FORM.
