MESSAGE FROM MRS. RACH

Hello Cushing families!

As we transition between winter and spring, we know (and have experienced) that temperatures can shift significantly throughout the day. To help our time outside run smoothly and ensure students remain comfortable and safe, we like to share a few reminders at this time of year.

We encourage families to check the weather each morning to help their child(ren) come prepared for the outdoors. Taking a moment to plan ahead not only ensures students are dressed appropriately for the day, but also helps them practice important planning and organizational skills.

For students in 5K–3rd grade, 50 degrees is our general guideline for going without a coat, provided students are wearing long sleeves. Students in 4th and 5th grade may use their discretion; however, they should still bring their coats outside with them each day.

Our goal is to maximize outdoor play time while keeping students safe and comfortable.

Wishing you a warm and enjoyable weekend!

Mrs. Rach

KM Community Center Programming Survey
Our planning team is making wonderful progress on the new Community Center at the Magee Campus and will start offering programming for the 2026-27 school year. As part of this process, we are looking for input from our KM Community on offerings and schedules that most appeal to you. Please visit: https://forms.gle/tdf3x9Z84sfQ14At7 to complete the Community Center survey by February 27th. This survey is open to everyone, residents and non-residents of all ages, who may be interested in utilizing the Community Center. Pre-school, senior and adult programming are an important part of this planning, so please share this link with family and friends who do not currently have children in school. Community vitality thrives when learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door. At Kettle Moraine, we see education as a lifelong journey—one that is enriched by recreation, connection, and shared experiences across generations. By intentionally designing programs that meet real community needs, we are creating spaces where learning feels natural, accessible, and welcoming. That belief is shaping the vision for the new KM Community Center at the Magee Campus.

We are currently looking for volunteers to run various science themed stations. Interested participants are asked to create an engaging presentation and/or activity that lasts 45 minutes. There will be 2 rotations so you'd do the same presentation twice to approximately 20 students each time. Lunch will be provided to thank all volunteers for their time!
