MESSAGE FROM MRS. RACH

At Cushing, citizenship is important to us. You might know that our school expectations align with three major guidelines: be safe, be kind, and do your job, and you may even recall seeing these behaviors listed on Star Slips! That’s because these actions are so important to us; we are always working to recognize positive behaviors in all of our students!

Take a look at our newest video in the Shooting Star Series: "Be Safe, Be Kind, Do Your Job," which shows how our Cushing Stars shine brightly here at school. Parents and guardians, feel free to use this language at home with your children as well. Children understand the importance of being safe, kind, and responsible at school, and discussing it at home is helpful too!

5th Grade Musical
As we prepare for the upcoming Pirates the Musical, we wanted to reach out and share that we have created an Amazon wish list to make it easier for those who are interested in supporting the concert. The wish list includes various supplies and props that our 5th-grade students will need for their performance. If you or anyone you know would like to contribute, please feel free to check out the wish list. Your generosity would greatly enhance the experience for our students.

Thank you for your continued support, and please reach out if you have any questions.

STUDENT SERVICES UPDATE

We are interested in gauging interest in parent participation in a virtual book club here at Cushing. The book we are considering is "How to Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk" by Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish. This bestselling text offers valuable insights and methods for effective communication between parents and children. It provides parents/adults with useful strategies to handle negative emotions, express feelings without hurtfulness, promote cooperation, set boundaries, and resolve conflicts peacefully.

If you are interested in participating in the virtual book club, please complete this Google form. Based on the responses, we will plan meeting dates and times. Please note that we require a minimum of 10 parents to run the book club successfully.
