MESSAGE FROM MRS. RACH

Hi families,

I wanted to take the time to share a new opportunity with you as we continue to build connections within and beyond our Cushing community. I am hoping that you’ll join us for an evening dedicated to academic growth and community building. On May 7th, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM in the Cushing gym, we will host a Math Night in partnership with Mathnasium. This event offers a high-energy social environment where families can engage together while also learning fun math games.

Explore a variety of self-paced math games and activities specifically designed to reinforce classroom learning and build mathematical fluency in a fun way. Families can connect with each other and staff while experiencing new ways to support student academic success. The event is flexible—come and go as your schedule allows!

If you have any questions, please reach out to me, we’re looking forward to this opportunity to connect with new and current Cushing / KM  families!

Go Stars!

Mrs. Rach

Class Placement Information for Next Year
The teams at Cushing take great care to create balanced classrooms by considering academic needs, social-emotional dynamics, and specialized supports.  If you have thoughts you would like us to consider about your child that we don’t already know,  please share them by completing THIS FORM by May 1. Your input is a valuable part of our transition process; we ask that parents please understand that we are unable to honor requests for specific teachers, and submitting the form does not guarantee that all preferences can be met. We appreciate your partnership in helping us build a successful year for all our learners!

Celebration of Learning - Thursday, April 23
Our Celebration of Learning will be held Thursday, April 23rd from 3:15-4:45. Students are excited to share their learning with you! Since our staff need time to set up for the event and there is no student supervision after dismissal, we ask families to pick their students up via Car Line or have their students take their bus home at the end of the school day. Students cannot stay at school and wait for their families.

26-27 Calendar
Here is the 2026-27 school calendar. We’re sharing this in advance with our families to assist in planning future vacations and pre-planned student absences during the next school year. Please reach out to Mrs. Rach if you have any questions about school attendance.

Lost & Found
We have a lot of Lost items waiting to be Found.  If your child(ren) is missing something, there’s a real good chance it’s in our Lost & Found.  The next time you’re at Cushing, swing by to see if anything belongs to your family. Parents seem to have the magic touch with finding lost items.  Anything left after the end of the school year will be donated.

Family Support
One of our families experienced a sudden loss with the passing of their father, James Cochrane.

To support the family during this difficult time, we are organizing a meal train to help lighten their load. If you would like to provide a meal or offer your support, please sign up using this Meal Train/Sign-Up Form.

Thank you for your kindness and for keeping the Cochrane family in your thoughts.

Create an eWallet, and you’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to Share the Fair - the giving program that supports students at our school who need help buying books.
