MESSAGE FROM MRS. RACH

Hello Cushing Families:

Earlier this week, you should have received an email from School Perceptions titled “Kettle Moraine School District 2024 Parent Survey”. The purpose of the School Perceptions Survey is to gather feedback from students, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders about their perceptions, experiences, and satisfaction with various aspects of Cushing and district. This feedback helps identify strengths, areas for improvement, and priorities for action including setting building and district goals. Ultimately, we aim to use this information to make informed decisions and to continually enhance the quality of education alongside our overall school community.

Your feedback is incredibly valuable. This survey provides you with an additional opportunity to share your personal insights into how we're doing as well as areas where we can improve both as a school and as a district.

Please take a moment to complete the survey when you get a chance (by May 3rd). It's anonymous, so feel free to share your thoughts openly.

Thank you, in advance, for taking the time to participate. Together, we can continue to make our school community grow and improve.

In partnership,
Mrs. Rach

Celebration of Learning - Look at Us Grow!
Our Celebration of Learning is next Thursday and students are excited to share their learning with you! Since our staff needs time to set up for the event and there is no student supervision, we kindly ask families to please pick their students up or have their students take the bus home at the end of the school day.

Fifth Grade Families: Message from Middle School Band
We are thrilled you have decided to join us for Band in 6th Grade at Kettle Moraine Middle School. Band is a wonderful opportunity to discover your ability to learn an instrument and to enjoy making music together with your peers.

In a few weeks, Band teachers will be visiting your elementary school to hold instrument fittings for all students enrolled in Band for next year. This is a one-on-one appointment during the school day where you will have the opportunity to try 2 instruments of your choice. The band teachers will also answer questions you might have and help you in your decision for what to play next year.

The options for 6th grade beginning band at KMMS are Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, and Mallet Percussion. Please visit our website here for information on these instruments and to hear each being played (highly recommended ahead of your fitting date)

The fitting day at Cushing will be May 7th.

We look forward to meeting each student and helping them find the best fit for their Band instrument! More information will be sent home with students after their fitting and selection is made.

Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns, and welcome to our Band program!

Lost & Found
We have a lot of Lost items waiting to be Found.  If your child(ren) is missing something, there’s a real good chance it’s in our Lost & Found.  The next time you’re at Cushing, swing by to see if anything belongs to your family. Parents seem to have the magic touch with finding lost items.  Anything left after the end of the school year will be donated.

Help Clean Up Our Cushing Garden!
Let’s get our hands dirty and help beautify our school. Bring your gloves and a shovel and help clean up our garden so we can start spring planting. The next clean up date is Saturday, April 20th from 8-11am.

Click HERE for the Sign up Genius link.

The goal is to have the students involved in planting and maintaining the garden throughout the year. There will be opportunities for classrooms and Girl Scout Troops/Cub Scout Packs to utilize the garden for projects, please reach out to Alicia Ploeger to coordinate.

We will be reaching out to community businesses for donations of supplies. If you would like to donate, see the list below or view our Amazon Wishlist HERE.
