MESSAGE FROM MRS. RACH

The end of the school year is always full of fun and excitement, and this year is no exception. Our older students had a jam-packed week full of activities, ranging from field trips and track meets to job shadowing experiences at Belfre Kitchen at our Dine for Cushing event. Meanwhile, our younger students were busy rocking out for their grown-ups at their "Kindergarten Rocks" concert while other grade levels enjoyed end-of-the-year field trips and field days.

This time of year also brings excitement into our classrooms; our students' energy and enthusiasm are ever more evident. Celebrations of learning are frequent and abundant. When I visit the classrooms, I almost always see victories and celebrations. We are incredibly proud of what our students are accomplishing and are excited for the many more celebrations yet to come!

Thank you for your continued support and involvement in making this school year a success. Let's finish strong and enjoy every moment of these wonderful end-of-year festivities!

FINAL CALL: Lost & Found
We have a lot of Lost items waiting to be Found.  If your child(ren) is missing something, there’s a real good chance it’s in our Lost & Found.  The next time you’re at Cushing, swing by to see if anything belongs to your family. Parents seem to have the magic touch with finding lost items.  Anything left after the end of the school year will be donated.

Fifth Grade Farewell Information
Fifth grade parents and families are welcome to attend our Fifth Grade Farewell Ceremony at 9:30 on Thursday, June 6.  Unfortunately, we do not have capacity for the younger Cushing student siblings.  There is a school-wide "clap out" at 8:45 that our younger students will participate in to say goodbye to the fifth grade students.  After the farewell ceremony, fifth grade students can take pictures outdoors with their families, classmates and teachers, and then leave for the day.  Cushing does ask that younger siblings stay until the end of the day, which is 12:35.

Yearbooks
Yearbooks will be distributed to students on June 5.

Extra Yearbooks for Sale
We have a small supply of extra yearbooks available for sale. They will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis and payment will reserve your copy. Yearbooks are $11 each and can be paid for with cash or check made out to Cushing PTO.  Contact Mrs. Mirek to purchase a copy. She can also let you know if you already placed an order earlier in the year.

Cushing Garden Clean Up - Saturday, June 1
The last Cushing Garden clean-up of the year is this Saturday, June 1st from 8:30-10:30am. Come join us as we plant our final round of vegetables for the summer and clean up some weeds. Please bring gloves if you have them.

The garden will need some love throughout the summer. Email Alicia if you would like to help keep the garden tidy throughout the summer. If you pull some weeds, you get to pick and keep some veggies! Alicia.m.ploeger@gmail.com

24-25 Calendar - Updates
Click HERE for the updated 24-25 school year calendar.  Three No School days have been added for Elementary School only - November 1, March 11, and April 9.  (Middle and High School students will have school on these dates.)

Check for Ticks
We are seeing an increase in ticks the last couple of weeks.  Please make sure to check your kids when they come home from school.

Medication in Health Room
If your student has medication in our Health Room, please pick it up on the last day of school.

Soil Donations Needed
The Cushing Garden is in need of new soil. We are taking donations. Please drop them off near the garden if you'd like to contribute. Thanks!

Field Trip Fees
Please log into your Infinite Campus Parent Portal to check for any unpaid Field Trip and/or Chaperone Fees.  Please make payment by the end of the school year. Thanks!

If you need financial assistance, please contact the principal. If you would like to financially assist another student with general field trip fees, you may donate using the optional fee ‘CE - Field Trip Financial Assist’ found in Infinite Campus.
