We’ve got spirit...yes, we do!  We’ve got spirit...how ‘bout you?  September 26th is KM’s Homecoming Parade & Football Game.  Cushing will be getting into the Homecoming spirit ALL WEEK!

Cushing Family Directory
The PTO Family Directory is now available to Cushing families.  When you log into your Parent Portal, you will find the link to access the directory under the Announcements tab. 

You can also click HERE to access the Directory.

A password is required to open the Directory. Password: cushing2526 

Please note, the Parent Directory is only available on the desktop version of the Parent Portal.  It is not available through the app.

New Phone Number/Email?
Parents/Guardians - you can now update your contact information (phone number and/or email address) in the Parent Portal.

Click on the person icon (User Menu) in the upper right of the app/website > Settings > Contact Preferences  > Make your changes and click the “Save” button.

My View Bus Tracking App
Dousman Transport’s Zonar My View bus tracking app is now available. If you don't already have My View, please go to the Apple Store/Google Play Store and download "Zonar My View" by Byte Curve, LLC. Once you have downloaded the app, use code DOU1064. After you are in the system, enter your student number and follow the remaining steps. If you need any help, click the support button. If you have additional questions, you can contact jessica.chelminiak@dtcbus.com at Dousman Transport.

Picture Retakes - October 16
Empire Photography will be here in the morning on Thursday, October 16th for picture retakes.  If you want a re-do for your student or if your student did not get their picture taken at Great Start Conferences, fill out THIS FORM. 

Wear Green on October 22 for Phelen-McDermid Syndrome Awareness Day

On Tuesday, October 22nd, we will celebrate Phelan-McDermid Syndrome Awareness Day at Cushing by wearing green. Phelan-McDermid Syndrome is a rare genetic condition that involves chromosome 22, and can make learning, talking, and growing look a little different for some people. It’s extra special for us to recognize this day because someone in our own Cushing community has Phelan-McDermid Syndrome.

When we wear green, we show kindness, care, and support for our classmates, friends, and families—both here at Cushing and all around the world.

So don’t forget: wear green on October 22nd to show your support!

School Counseling News
We are finding ways to bring in problem solving opportunities into all areas of our school, including recess, class time and specials. The Solution Spot on the playground (featuring Kelso the Frog) gives students a fun, clear way to practice the problem-solving skills they’ve been learning with their teachers and our school counselor, Ms. Walker. They’ve even seen these strategies reinforced in specials like art, gym, and PE—helping build consistency across our school.

Youth Cheer Clinic - Register by September 19

Join us for our 2025 Youth Cheer Clinic Hosted by the Kettle Moraine High School Cheerleaders!

Clinic dates are Tuesday September 30th and Thursday October 2nd from 5:30 - 7:00pm with check in to begin at 5:15pm each day.  The performance will be at the Varsity Football game on Friday October 3rd, 2025, with check in to begin at 6:30pm at the KMHS Varsity Softball Field - Adonis Fields Softball Complex.  Athletes will receive a t-shirt, poms, and bow with their registration.  Admission for the Varsity Football game on Friday October 3rd will be included for the athletes registered.  Please see the sign up for further details!

Our PTO is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to lead some important committees that make a big difference in our school community.

No experience needed, just a willingness to jump in and help! Leading a committee is a fun, rewarding way to connect with other families, support our staff, and directly impact our children’s school experience.

Our existing committee leads have created great planning documents and have teams in place which will make for an easy transition to a new committee lead.  Better yet - join with a friend and co-lead a committee!

Aerobics for Adults
Need that extra push to get started with an exercise program? Make it easy by joining the longest running aerobics class in the Lake Country area. For over 35 years we’ve been getting this community into shape, and making friends at the same time. The routines have been designed so they work for anyone at any age or fitness level. Go at your own pace with easy to follow steps set to a variety of popular music. You’ll get just the right amount of cardiovascular exercise, followed by floor work that will both tone and stretch your muscles, for a complete full body workout.  Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Sign up today at https://kmsd.revtrak.net/rwcommunityeducation/

American Sign Language 1A
Introduces American Sign Language (ASL) to students with no previous experience with ASL. Emphasizes the expressive and receptive conversational skills of ASL used by the Deaf community. Students will learn strategies on how to introduce themselves, colors, and numbers 0 - 15. Includes introduction to American Deaf culture.  All ages welcome, students under 16 must be accompanied by a parent throughout the entire class time. Jr Laser Golf
We are excited to announce that registration is open for tryouts to participate in the 2025-26 Junior Lasers Golf Team! 

Kettle Moraine Junior Lasers Tryouts:
Email communication with tryout instructions will be sent about 1 week prior to tryouts.  You’ll only need to attend 1 of the below tryout dates and specific tryout times will be communicated. Generally, tryouts take less than 30 minutes for each golfer to complete. MUST PRE-REGISTER using the button below.
