Counselors

Thank you Counselors!

School counselors support our students with academic, career, and personal development. We have an amazing team of counselors at KMHS: Mrs. Featherston, Mrs. Landry, Mrs. Kirnberger, and Mrs. Neimon. We also greatly appreciate additional counseling center staff including Mrs. Kittel, Mr. Rortvedt, Mr. Bagdassian, and Mr. Bakkum.

This week is National School Counseling Week so we want to thank you for all you do for our students!

advocacy

Advocacy Day at our State Capitol!

FRC Laser Robotics students attended workshops in the morning and set up meetings in the afternoon to speak with local representatives about the importance of robotics funding at the capital.

Wisconsin increased funding last year by $250,000 to provide $750,000 for robotics in schools. DPI Grants were written for $992,000 this fall, which means the needs still exceed available funds. Wisconsin still runs far behind neighboring states, Iowa at $5 million, and Michigan and Minnesota at $10 million.

Robotics provides knowledge in engineering and computer science, business and soft skills. Many alumni talk about how robotics helped them gain confidence and steer them in future success.

Congratulations to our Kettle Moraine FTC robotics teams, Laser Bots and Laser Tech

Our FTC robotics teams had an excellent qualification tournament last weekend. For the first time in 3 years, the two FTC teams were paired up as an alliance which resulted in scoring the Wisconsin state record.

The two teams earned the right to pair up once again in the finals and placed 1st at the competition in dominating fashion.

Both teams have now qualified for the Wisconsin State Tournament at MSOE on March 2nd.

Additionally, the following awards were earned:

Laser Bots: Winning Alliance Captain, 1st place Control Award, 2nd place Think Award

Laser Tech: 1st place Innovate Award, Winning Alliance 1st Pick, 2nd place Design Award, 3rd place Inspire Award

clue

CLUE: On Stage (High School Edition) | March 8 & 9 @ 7pm, March 10 @ 2pm | KMHS Auditorium

Based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie which was inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, Clue is a hilarious farce-meets-murder mystery. The tale begins in 1954 at a remote mansion; six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail are on the menu. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects. Led by Wadsworth (the butler), Miss Scarlett, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock, and Colonel Mustard race to find the killer as the body count stacks up.

Clue is the comedy whodunit that will leave both cult-fans and newcomers in stitches as they try to figure out...WHO did it, WHERE, and with WHAT!

Content Warning: CLUE: On Stage (High School Edition) includes prop weapons including revolvers and gunshot sound effects. The plot references some mature themes, including various reasons a person may pay blackmail and/or commit murder. The High School Edition is similar to a PG film.
