A walk down memory lane with a glimpse into the future!

On Friday, May 31st, the class of 2024 will start a new tradition as they will walk through their KMSD elementary schools in their caps and gowns.

This is an optional event, at the end of their senior send-off morning,* that we hope will remind our seniors that while we take different paths in life, we are always connected to our #KMNation!

Elementary students will get a glimpse into their future, maybe share a high five, and undoubtedly feel inspired. As their faces light up, our seniors will know they have made memories for themselves and the younger generation of KM.

Seniors, following our final graduation practice and yearbook distribution, you can transport yourself to your respective KMSD elementary school for an event organized by those school principals. Please wear your cap and gown for your elementary school celebration. Please complete this two-question survey to help schools prepare for the celebrations.

Congrats Class of 2024! We wish you the best of luck in your future and are excited to see the amazing things you will do!

*Class of 2024 Senior Send-Off Itinerary for Friday, May 31st:

8:00-9:00 am - Senior Breakfast in the KMHS Commons

9:00-10:15 am - Graduation Practice at KMHS

10:15-11:00 am - Walkthrough/Celebration at KMHS in cap & gown

11:00-12:00 pm - One final graduation practice followed by yearbook distribution at KMHS

12:00-1:00p - KMSD Elementary School walkthrough/celebration - an optional event for seniors who attended Magee, Explore, Wales, Dousman, or Cushing. Seniors will transport themselves to their KMSD elementary schools with an anticipated noon arrival for their walkthrough/celebration. Elementary principals will organize the event at their respective schools.

This event was one last addition to the already planned Class of 2024 Senior Weekend May 30-June 1. Please review this Communication and FAQ for the Class of 2024 Celebration sent on May 16th for the details.

Senior Night Success!

The Lasers defeated Waukesha North 4-2 last Thursday on Senior Night. Coach Wolbert played 11 seniors throughout the game (Miles Burchardt was unavailable due to injury). Starting pitcher Cade Buccholz shut down the Northstars in the first inning, allowing no runs and striking out two. JJ Wolbert led off with a walk, followed by singles by Jonah Roloff, Lincoln Ascher, and Scott Brown to give the Lasers a 3-0 lead after the first inning.

Logan Gronewold, Will Johnson, and Dominic Fracaro pitched in the next four innings, holding the Northstars to only two runs combined. Wolbert singed in the third inning and scored by stealing home putting the Lasers up 4-1 into the fifth inning. The Northstars loaded the bases in the fifth but Fracaro got their three-hitter to hit into an inning-ending double play turned by Wolbert and Reed Burns, halting the Northstars scoring threat.

Roloff finished Senior Night with a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate. Ascher finished with two hits. Brown, Johnson, and Wolbert finished with one hit each. Wolbert took the mound in the sixth inning and was dominant, striking out two and recording an 85 mph fastball on the stadium scoreboard!  Lincoln Asher was electric on the mound in the seventh inning, earning the save. His cousin, Kaiden Ascher came in to catch! Stellar defense by Tyler Wille, Johnson, and Buccholz helped seal the victory.  Thanks for a memorable night, seniors!

MR. BESTOR'S TRIVIA

Congratulations to Alyssa Bergholz, Tate Robillard, Emily Garvin, and Mrs. Jordan for correctly answering our softball trivia!

Kaukauna won the NCAA Girls Softball championship last year.

In softball, the distance between bases is 60 feet for games using a 12-inch ball, and 65 feet for games using an 11-inch ball. The distance from home plate to the front of the pitching rubber is 43 feet. In baseball, bases are 90 feet from one another, and the pitcher's mound is 60 feet and 6 inches from home plate.

Kaukana's softball team is poised to break the National Record for the most wins in a row. They have won over 100 games!
