Hello KMMS Families,
Our 3rd Annual KMMS Showcase of Learning is quickly approaching, and we’re excited for another great event! Next week, students will complete a Commitment Day” Google Form where they will:
-
Select the project they plan to present
- Confirm the night and time they will present
Each student will present during one 45-minute time slot across the two evenings. During that time, we encourage students to present their project multiple times (goal of 5 presentations) to different visitors. Event Schedule:
Wednesday, April 29 (Last Names A-K) A-F: 5:00-5:45 PM G-K: 6:00-6:45 PM
Thursday, April 30 (Last Names L-Z) L-R: 5:00-5:45 PM S-Z: 6:00-6:45 PM
If your student has a scheduling conflict, they may choose a different time slot that works better for your family.
The Showcase has been a highlight of the past two years, and it’s a great opportunity to see student learning and creativity on display. We encourage you to talk with your child about the project they plan to commit to next week. Please reach out if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you there! Have a great weekend, Matt Kitzerow KMMS Principal Laura Lloyd

Laser Ladies of STEM & Milwaukee Tool |
The sixth and seventh grade Laser Ladies of STEM had an inspiring visit to Milwaukee Tool this week. They were welcomed by a group of talented women engineers who shared their personal journeys and passion for engineering, offering a firsthand look at what it’s like to build a career in STEM.
During the visit, students toured and received a sneak peak into the company’s Rapid Prototyping Lab, took part in hands-on, STEM-focused activities and were led on a fascinating tour that highlighted the growth of this amazing company. The hands-on tool use was a great experience for all. They were introduced to the concept of “disruptive innovation”—not just improving existing tools, but transforming how they work altogether. The group also explored how advances in artificial intelligence are shaping the future of tools, allowing them to respond more intuitively to users.
The highlight of the trip was a Q&A session with a panel of female engineers. Our students asked thoughtful, insightful questions about career paths and decision-making, demonstrating both maturity and strong critical thinking skills. It was a proud moment to see their curiosity and confidence on display.
"The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity." -- Amelia Earhart. |

All the fun of Zumba® with resistance training mixed in!
Zumba + Lift® blends the fun, low-impact dance fitness you love with simple strength training using light weights (about 5–10 lbs, though, this is up to you and your fitness level). We will alternate between Zumba® routines and dumbbell weight training throughout the entire class to build strength in our major muscle groups. Start with the weights that you feel comfortable with, and add additional weight over time. Please bring your own set of weights, either 2, 5, or 10 lbs. The goal of these classes is to get stronger in a progressive manner. Classes are held this spring on Tuesdays and Thursdays, sign up today at https://kmsd.revtrak.net/rwcommunityeducation/
