PLEASE STAND FOR THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

HOPE TO WALK RAISED $750!

Students in Mrs. Weske’s and Ms.Pasternak's Healthy & Active Lifestyles classes completed a 5K last week to raise awareness for Hope to Walk. Hope to Walk is a non-profit organization that helps the impoverished people of the world. Their mission is to offer prosthetic legs and hope to a world in need. Hope to Walk works to ensure all amputees can access the ability to walk. They design low-cost prosthetic legs and develop prosthetic training programs to train international communities to help themselves. Millions of amputees worldwide depend on wheelchairs and crutches. Some are even forced to crawl simply because they cannot afford prosthetics. This year, we raised $750 which will provide THREE individuals with a prosthetic leg. Thank you so much for your support! Stay tuned for an update on the recipients).

TODAY IS WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY

mental

World Mental Health Day is celebrated TODAY all across the globe with the aim to promote, educate, and raise awareness of mental health issues. The focus of this day is also to get people talking about their mental health and eradicate stigmas associated with mental illness.

What to do on World Mental Health Day?
Take some time for yourself and keep an eye on your well-being. Make sure you're getting enough time to relax and rejuvenate to keep a healthy mind and avoid any unnecessary stresses in your day-to-day life. If you feel like things are getting on top of you or are finding it difficult to keep organized, consider using a daily planner or wellness journal to make sure you're looking after yourself.

For additional information or resources related to mental health, please contact our KM school district mental health navigator, Mr. Bakum at bakkums@kmsd.edu

CONGRATS CROSS COUNTRY RUNNERS

Last night was another successful night of cross country with two of our runners earning medals, Kaitlyn M and Kennedy G. More importantly, teams are sharing in these victories. The 7th grade boys race started as the 7th grade girls ended. As the 7th grade boys came across the finish line, their first question was how did the girls do? They are just as excited to see another's success as much as their own. This was also shown by the 8th grade boys, who raced last. Cheering on each and every team as they finished. This was topped off by the efforts of Stella W and Camilla D who made hair ties for all the girls. Coach Fritsch and Coach Page are so proud of the runners and their sportsmanship that they displayed this week. One more race next week!
