Attention orchestra and band students! If you cannot sit with your instrument on your lap (like those larger instruments), please have a parent or guardian pick you up. Some students have been putting instruments in the front seats or next to the driver and the instruments are then not secure. For the safety of all, please abide by Dousman Transportation’s request.
Attention 7th and 8th Grade Band and Orchestra Families!
We are proud to announce an exciting opportunity for students in 7th and 8th grade Band and Orchestra! Starting at the beginning of November, we will rehearse a group after-school that will be learning different Christmas Carols. This year we will perform at the KMHS Band program’s “Breakfast with Santa” on Saturday, December 2nd and will also be taking the students on a tour to district elementary schools the week of December 4th.
There is no cost to students other than money for a quick fast food lunch the day of the field trip. Students can register in myLC under the task called “Caroling Signup” or visiting this link (BAND) or this link (ORCHESTRA).
Please let us know if you have any additional questions!

The KM Music Parents Board would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all who made this year's Homecoming Chili/Mac and Cheese Dinner a huge success. We served nearly 400 meals and enjoyed the wonderful sense of KM pride and community spirit that buzzed through the cafeteria. This event would not be possible without the support of our volunteers, donations from generous parents and the amazing community that purchased meals. 100% of the proceeds from the event will go directly back to supporting music in the KM School District. Thank you!
The All Campus Musical tickets are on sale. For more information or to purchase tickets, check out the musical website. Performances are from November 9-12.

There are 35 million amputees and disabled people worldwide who need prosthetic devices but do not have access to them?
Traditional prosthetic legs cost between $10,000-$25,000 -- an unattainable price for someone making $3 per day
8th graders in Healthy & Active Lifestyles are participating in a Virtual 5K to raise awareness for Hope to Walk. Hope to Walk is a non-profit organization that helps the impoverished people of the world. Millions of amputees worldwide depend on wheelchairs and crutches. Some are even forced to crawl simply because they cannot afford prosthetics. Please consider donating. Go to https://hopetowalk.networkforgood.com/projects/203726-kelly-weske-s-fundraiser for more details and to make a donation.
Last year, students raised enough money to purchase a leg for Santos, a 61-year old man from Honduras. Our goal this year is to raise enough money to purchase TWO (or more) prosthetic legs.
The KM Forensics Speech Team, where students speak with conviction, meets on Wednesdays after school in Room 603 until 4 pm. Popcorn and hot chocolate will be served.

We have some fun activities coming up, including tonight with the Fright Fest Field Trip and another home football game. These events are fun. They provide a fantastic opportunity to learn and have fun outside the classroom with your peers. However, it's important to remember that appropriate behavior is crucial during these trips to ensure everyone's safety and so that you don’t miss out on other future activities due to poor choices. Here are some guidelines and the consequences for inappropriate behavior:
Respect for Others: Treat your fellow students, teachers, and chaperones with kindness and respect. Remember that everyone is there to have a good time. You should never have fun at someone else’s expense. Making fun of others ( including online) is not okay and not appropriate.
Listen to Instructions: Pay attention when your teacher, chaperone, or supervisor is speaking. Following instructions is vital for your safety and the success of the trip.
Stay with the Group: Stay close to your group at all times. Wandering off can lead to accidents or getting lost, which could disrupt the trip for everyone.
Respect the Environment: Keep the environment clean and beautiful. Don't litter, vandalize, or damage any property. Treat the places you visit with care. Be respectful and responsible.
Appropriate Language and Behavior: Use polite and respectful language. Inappropriate language or behavior, such as teasing, bullying, or vandalism, will not be tolerated.
Consequences for Inappropriate Behavior:
Verbal Warning: If you're found engaging in inappropriate behavior, you may receive a verbal warning. This is your opportunity to correct your actions.
Further Consequences/ Loss of Privileges: If the behavior continues, you may be asked to take a break from the group and if the inappropriate behavior persists, your parents will be notified, and they may need to come to the location to pick you up.
In more serious cases, you may lose certain privileges, such as participating in future activities or trips. It can also result in school consequences, such as a detention or a suspension.
Remember, field trips are a privilege, and with that privilege comes the responsibility of acting appropriately. We want you to have a memorable and enjoyable experience. Your behavior not only reflects on you but also on your school, your teachers, your peers, and your community.
We hope you make the most of these opportunities to explore new things, make some positive memories, and make some new connections/friends.
Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Kind.
It’s a great day… to be a LASER!
