October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Did you know that our school district has a policy that protects you if you report bullying? Students are often worried that if they report bullying, the problem will get worse. If you report that bullying is happening and someone calls you a snitch or treats you poorly because of it, that is called retaliation. If you know that someone has experienced retaliation, stay the course and let your trusted adult know! The consequences for someone who retaliates against a student who reported bullying will be worse. This Friday, we invite everyone to wear pink as a show of support against bullying!
Calling all K-8th grade students who are looking to join a fun and challenging sport focused on developing all around athleticism, confidence and self discipline. Wrestling is one of the fastest growing high school sports in Wisconsin, and the fastest growing sport in the country for girls! The Kettle Moraine Wrestling Club offers three programs that support wrestlers at all age/skill levels. There are clinics during the fall for both experienced and beginner wrestlers. Wrestlers are encouraged to attend tournaments when they're ready and will have the full support of the KMWC coaching staff. The Beginner season runs from December through the first week in March. The Intermediate and Advanced season runs from mid-November through the end of March. Check out our website, www.kettlemorainewrestlingclub.com, for season information and registration. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for information on upcoming events and competition results. We hope to see you on the mat this season!
Attention all 8th graders who are attending Fright Fest on Friday. The weather forecast is looking chilly, so you will need a jacket or coat. Remember that Six Flags does not accept cash so you need some form of electronic payment. Any questions, see Mrs Hamilton.
The KM Finnatics Fishing Team is hosting an informational meeting on Wednesday, October 29 at 6pm in the KMHS cafeteria. We will discuss tournaments for this year as well as fundraising opportunities. No prior fishing experience needed! Open to all kids in grades 6-12.

New this year: applications are submitted online using the QR code found on the flyer. You do not need to mail anything to the VFW Post.
Many winners nationwide will be selected, with at least one winner from each state receiving a prize of $500 or more. In addition to the prizes at the State and National level, the local Oconomowoc post offers prizes for 1st ($100), 2nd ($50) and 3rd ($25) place. Your application and essay must be submitted online by October 31. With questions, please feel free to contact your school counselor (Mr. Korb or Mrs. Cowan).
If you would like to or are interested in donating, please consider supporting our Attendance Incentive Program by donating items for our monthly Plinko game. The National History Day club is a great way to make friends, and explore history through your own interests. If you are interested, or have any questions, you can ask Mr. Harrison. Meetings take place on Wednesdays in Mr. Harrison's room, 601, directly after school until 4:00.
Next week on the 27th we begin a Halloween Spirit Week that we are connecting to anti-bullying. On Monday we have PJ day and on Tuesday we have Color Wars. 6th grade wears orange, 7th grade wears purple, and 8th grade black. On Wednesday we are having a White Out.Everyone wears white. On Thursday we have spooky hat or hair day, and finally on Friday you can wear your costume or Halloween colors. Remember all work on costumes must be done at home. No masks or costumes that are offensive or will get in the way of learning will be allowed. Obviously, no weapon props or offensive costumes. We want to scare away bullies -- not our classmates!
We will choose a random day of the week and whatever grade has the most participants will win! Have a nice day.
