We often have requests from students and parents about decorating lockers for birthdays. We are happy to accommodate these requests with the following guidelines:
-Decorations should not interfere with the functioning of the locker or nearby lockers
-No food, gum or candy items as decorations
- No balloons (We have students/staff with severe latex allergies.)
-Please help the birthday person clean up the decorations after a week or two.
If you have questions, please stop at the office before decorating.
We are experiencing an uptick in vandalism in the restrooms. Examples include: writing on the walls, wet paper towels / or toilet paper thrown around, messes in the urinals and stalls.
This is unacceptable, unfortunate, and needs to stop. Vandalism not only damages school property but also creates an uncomfortable and unsanitary environment for everyone. It forces us to divert funds and resources towards repairs that could be better spent on improving our school facilities or providing you with more educational resources
We would hate to have to close the large bathrooms but that is the direction we are heading. If bathrooms get locked because of vandalism, the only ones left open will be the single bathrooms in the commons area.
Any student found to be responsible for intentionally making a mess will have school consequences and could be cited for vandalism-that means issued a ticket.
Vandalism affects each and every one of us. When the bathrooms become unusable due to damage, it inconveniences all students, teachers, and staff. It also reflects poorly on our school as a whole. We take pride in our school, and we want it to be a welcoming and respectful place for everyone.
Please do your part to keep the bathrooms clean by using them appropriately and letting an adult know when you witness anyone not being appropriate.
National School Custodian Day was yesterday, October 2nd. Since we were not in school yesterday, we want to take a moment to THANK Miss Sarah and Mr. Frank for all they do for us. Custodians often work behind the scenes and may not always receive the recognition they deserve.
Please find a moment today to show appreciation for their hard work in maintaining a clean and safe environment for all of us.
Examples of how to do this include:
Find them and thank them personally. This could be when you see them in the hallway or during a break. A face-to-face interaction can make your thank-you more meaningful.
If you don’t see them, Write them a Thank you note. You can bring this Thank-You note to the office and we can get it to them for you.
Most importantly…show your appreciation by being respectful and considerate of the custodians and their efforts on a daily basis. Dispose of trash properly, keep common areas clean, and follow school rules to make their job easier.
From ALL of us here at KMMS, THANK YOU Miss Sarah and Mr. Frank. We are lucky to have you!! You are Appreciated!
Picture make-up day is on October 11th.
