Riding tall after their District win at regional competition, the KMET carried that momentum into the WIHA (Wisconsin Interscholastic Horsemanship Association) State equestrian competition this past weekend at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, WI. After 3 long show days, competing against 8 other Div. B teams, the Lasers edged out Neenah High School to earn the Division B WIHA State Championship!
As a team of 7 students showing 9 horses and 1 mule, the KMET earned 5 class wins, 12 Top 5’s and 11 Top 10 placings with EVERY team member’s placings contributing to the team’s overall score! Kettle Moraine was also recognized as the WIHA Division B “Team Spirit” award winner for demonstrating superior sportsmanship and true team spirit. A shout out to Taite W. for an impressive 2nd place finish at the WIHA mascot race contest!
