THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

VETERAN'S DAY

Today is Veterans Day. With that in mind, we honor all American veterans for their dedicated and loyal service to our country. November 11th of each year is the day that we ensure veterans know that we deeply appreciate the sacrifices they have made in their lives to keep our country free. Many of you may have a Veteran in your family. Maybe a neighbor of yours is a Veteran. We have some staff members here that are Veterans: Mr. Blanchard (8th grade) and Mr. Geboy (custodian).

Mr. Balnchard and Mr. Geboy....We thank you.

Please take a moment today to thank a Veteran for their sacrifices and their service. They deserve the respect and gratitude of our nation.

NOVEMBER IS CHILDREN'S GRIEF AWARENESS MONTH

Next week we will kick off our Light in the Darkness fundraiser, held in recognition of National Children’s Grief Awareness Day, which is next week Thursday. This fundraiser provides support to grieving KMMS students and their families, or those experiencing a terminal illness. Stay tuned for more details.

DISTRICT CHORAL FESTIVAL CONCERT INFO - NOVEMBER 12

Choir families!

Our first choir performance of the year is this Tuesday and will be featuring all middle and high school KM choirs. This is going to be a fantastic concert. All of the choirs have already made so much progress this year! Below are the important details.

The concert begins at 7pm at the KMHS auditorium
Students should be in the auditorium by 6pm
Students should wear black pants, black shoes, and their choir t-shirt
Audience members should plan to arrive no later than 6:55pm as seats will fill up quickly

KM MUSIC PARENTS ASSOCIATION MEETS TONIGHT

Please join the KM Music Parents Association for their November meeting on Monday, November 11th at 7:00pm at KM High School in Room B21. We'll be discussing Fall music events across KM and the Auditorium renovation fundraising. All parents/guardians of music students are welcome to participate. TRUE GRIT AWARD - SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY

The True Grit award is available to ALL students in grades 6-8 and is sponsored by the Lake Country Optimist Club. To apply for this scholarship, you must write a 300 word minimum essay on the topic of grit. The student who demonstrates the most growth in perseverance, endurance, and resilience through optimism, creativity, and confidence to achieve a desired academic or nonacademic goal, will be awarded a $100 scholarship. You must pick up a flyer in the front office for more information. Send your essay and your completed application to Mrs. Cowan or Mr. Korb by Friday, December 6th.

CARSON SCHOLAR AWARD - SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Attention ALL Kettle Moraine Middle School Students

Do you earn good grades?

Do you volunteer in your community?

If you answered yes to these two questions, please consider applying to be Kettle

Moraine Middle School’s nominee for the Carson Scholarship! This opportunity is open to all students who have a GPA of at least 3.75 (that is, no more than one B in their Math, STEM, Literacy, and Social Studies classes) and have completed community service / volunteer hours.

If our school’s nominee is chosen by the Carson Scholars Fund to be an award winner, they will receive a $1,000 scholarship invested towards a four-year college or university. Learn more about the Carson Scholars Fund, including info about the application and selection process HERE.

Applications can be picked up in the front office. Please see Mr. Korb or Mrs. Cowan with any questions.

Each applicant will be required to write a short essay. The applications will be reviewed by a committee to determine our school’s nominee. Applications are due in the front office by the end of the day on Wednesday, December 11.

KMMS MUSICAL AUDITION WORKSHOP TODAY

Musical auditions are on the horizon! All KMMS students are welcome to audition. Here's what you need to know:

Audition workshops are Monday, 11/11, and Wednesday, 11/13, from 2:45-3:30. Students attend one of the two days to practice and prepare for the actual auditions.
Auditions are Monday, 11/18, and Tuesday, 11/19, from 2:45-5:00. Students attend one of the two days and stay for the entire time. If needed, callbacks are on 11/20.

KM FORENSICS TEAM

You are invited to join the KM Forensic Team, where students learn to speak with conviction. Whether performing a dramatic monologue or delivering a persuasive speech, this team helps us build communication skills with confidence and clarity. Through practice and competition, we gain the tools to express ideas with passion and precision. It’s a place to grow, find your voice, and make an impact—because every argument we make and story we tell has the power to shape the world around us.

We meet every Tuesday from 2:35 to 4 pm in room 601.

STUDENT SENATE

The Student Senate meets after school until 4pm in the 6 Inspire house open area. Our next meeting is Tuesday, November 12th.
