In honor of National Children’s Grief Awareness Day, which is this Thursday, we are recognizing and supporting those who are grieving the illness or death of a loved one. This is a chance to let our grieving friends know that they’re not forgotten in the midst of their grief. How do we support people who are grieving? Ask them how they’re doing, tell them that you care about them, and listen if they want to talk, but don’t make them talk, and never expect them to “just get over it.” Everyone’s grief looks different, and giving a friend a hug is a very compassionate way to show them that you care. Please stop by our Memory Wall in the Cafeteria this week to honor your lost loved one. Our fundraiser competition kicks off today to raise money for The Healing Hearts of Waukesha, a non-profit organization that helps and supports those who grieve. Please bring your dollars or change and drop them in the bucket during your lunch period. The grade level to donate the most money will win an ice cream party that will occur Tuesday, November 21st. You will also notice that there are butterflies hanging up around the building with different passages about grief, see how many you can find! Please plan to wear blue this Thursday as a way to show your support.
Kettle Moraine Lasers Fastpitch is looking for more U14 players and a Player Development Coordinator to participate on the board. Please email for more information: KMFastPitch1@gmail.com to register/apply.
The Student Senate has a time of fun and activities planned for the last hour of the day on Tuesday, November 21. That is right before we head out for Thanksgiving Break. There will be a number of games where grade level teams will be competing against each other and a group of teachers. This week you will have an opportunity to put your name into a lottery to be chosen as one of the students who participates in a game. If you would prefer to watch or will be absent that day, you do not need to complete the Google form. All students who are present that day will come to be a part of the fun, but we do need students to participate in our team games. Watch for your opportunity to apply to play.
