KMMS PTO Meeting today at 3pm in the library. Please join our KMMS PTO Board, Mr Kitzerow and key chairpeople to hear about our plans and efforts for this year.
In honor of National Children’s Grief Awareness Day, which is this Thursday, we are recognizing and supporting those who are grieving the death of a loved one or who are suffering from a terminal illness. This is a chance to let our grieving friends know that they’re not forgotten in the midst of their grief. How do we support people who are grieving? Ask them how they’re doing, tell them that you care about them, and listen if they want to talk, but don’t make them talk, and never expect them to “just get over it.” Everyone’s grief looks different, and giving a friend a hug is a very compassionate way to show them that you care. Please stop by our Wall of Support in the Cafeteria this week to honor someone you lost or offer words of support to others who may be experiencing grief. As a way of supporting KMMS students and their families who experience a significant loss or illness, please bring your dollars to your Laser Hour class to raise money for our Light in the Darkness fundraiser. Each grade’s winning Laser Hour and the winning Laser Hour in Create, will receive a mystery prize. Our goal is to raise $500. Please share this important fundraiser opportunity with your parents. You will also notice that there are butterflies hanging up around the building with different passages about grief, see how many you can find! Please plan to wear blue this Thursday as a way to show your support.
