DECEMBER - GIVING BACK

The Waukesha Food Pantry helps to provide food, dignity, and hope to residents of Waukesha County who are in need. The food pantry started in 1978 in the basement of a volunteer’s home, and has now grown to serve more than 5700 people every month! There are lots of opportunities to get involved that can be found on the Waukesha Food Pantry’s website. “Giving Back” doesn’t always mean giving MONEY. Sometimes it means donating your TIME and EFFORT to benefit others!

FRIDAY LIBRARY LUNCH BUNCH

Love reading? Join us in the library on Fridays after lunch instead of heading to recess! Just grab a purple pass from the office, bring your favorite book, and enjoy some quiet reading time in the library.

GIFT CARDS can be dropped off at the KMMS office. Please do not wrap.

GIFT ITEMS should be wrapped and labeled as indicated so they get to the correct recipient.

ALL-SCHOOL FIELD TRIP ON DECEMBER 20th

Attention KMMS Lasers!

We have incredible news to share! Our hard work and dedication at Kettle Moraine Middle School has paid off in a big way. Our Wisconsin state report card just came out in November, and we SIGNIFICANTLY EXCEEDED expectations!

Every single one of you should be incredibly proud. Your commitment to learning, your passion, and your teamwork have made an amazing difference. You've shown what it means to be true Lasers - and you make our school one of the best middle schools in the state.

To celebrate our outstanding achievement, we're planning an AWESOME field trip to the movies on December 20th - the last day of school before winter break. We'll be watching the brand new Disney film "Mufasa" on its release date, and get this - we have FOUR entire theatres just for our school!

That day, we'll run a condensed schedule and then head to the movies for a well-deserved celebration. Parents will be receiving an email today with all the additional details.

Congratulations, Lasers! You've earned this celebration!

LOST AND FOUND

Please take a look at the Lost and Found. There are jackets, water bottles, lunch bags, shoes, sweatshirts and more! Anything unclaimed by December 20th will be donated.

CARSON SCHOLAR AWARD - SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY DEADLING IS TODAY!

Attention ALL Kettle Moraine Middle School Students

Do you earn good grades?

Do you volunteer in your community?

If you answered yes to these two questions, please consider applying to be Kettle

Moraine Middle School’s nominee for the Carson Scholarship! This opportunity is open to all students who have a GPA of at least 3.75 (that is, no more than one B in their Math, STEM, Literacy, and Social Studies classes) and have completed community service / volunteer hours.

If our school’s nominee is chosen by the Carson Scholars Fund to be an award winner, they will receive a $1,000 scholarship invested towards a four-year college or university. Learn more about the Carson Scholars Fund, including info about the application and selection process HERE.

Applications can be picked up in the front office. Please see Mr. Korb or Mrs. Cowan with any questions.

Each applicant will be required to write a short essay. The applications will be reviewed by a committee to determine our school’s nominee. Applications are due in the front office by the end of the day on Wednesday, December 11th.

KM FORENSICS TEAM

You are invited to join the KM Forensic Team, where students learn to speak with conviction. Whether performing a dramatic monologue or delivering a persuasive speech, this team helps us build communication skills with confidence and clarity. Through practice and competition, we gain the tools to express ideas with passion and precision. It’s a place to grow, find your voice, and make an impact—because every argument we make and story we tell has the power to shape the world around us.

Learning lab is on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2:45 - 4:00 in the library. All students not going to the Learning lab must have rides arriving prior to 3pm. Only those students may wait in the vestibule just inside the front doors.
