Alright, let’s take a moment to express our sincere appreciation for our substitute and guest teachers, who play a vital role in maintaining the continuity of our learning environment when our teachers are unavailable. Their dedication and commitment to supporting our school deserves our utmost gratitude. It’s a tough job to be a sub. Let’s show our appreciation by welcoming them warmly, following their instructions attentively, and treating them with the same respect we afford our daily teachers.
Did you know that substitute teacher shortages are a growing concern across the nation? These shortages can disrupt the learning process, leading to missed instructional time and academic setbacks for students. It's crucial for students to understand the impact of these shortages on their education.
Respect for substitute teachers is crucial in maintaining a positive learning environment. Substitutes step into unfamiliar classrooms and work hard to ensure that learning continues in the absence of the regular teacher. They deserve the same level of respect and cooperation as our daily educators. By being respectful and cooperative with substitutes, students not only contribute to a positive classroom atmosphere, it also helps ensure that their own education remains uninterrupted and productive, and helps KMMS continue to be one of the best middle schools in the state. Please thank a guest teacher for being here if you see them today, or one of these last few weeks of school.

The KM Forensics team, where students speak with confidence and conviction, came home with some precious metal on Friday at Slinger Middle School. The team took home 11 medals. Seven Lasers earned Gold Medals for their outstanding performances: Elsa K, Zaraya O, Kassidy W, Kristen M, Anabelle G, and Taylor A. While Jules H and Ellen D secured Silver Medals, and Caylee H and Jolie K claimed Bronze. In total, 26 students achieved State-qualifying scores, and the team continues to improve. Their sights are now set on the next competition at Central Middle School in Hartford. We wish them luck as they continue to sharpen their speaking skills. Keep up the great work, Lasers!
