Good luck to the KM National History Day team who will present their history projects tomorrow. Twenty-five Lasers have been collecting evidence, including primary sources, and analyzing that evidence to support their thesis. Their projects include museum exhibits, documentaries, extended research papers, and websites. Some of their projects include the impact of the 3-point shot on the game of basketball, history of Kettle Moraine School District, how Increase Lapham created the U.S. Weather Bureau, and how the Vietnam Veterans Memorial changed what we remember about our past and how we remember it. Wish all our young historians luck as they represent KM and our community.
The Coding Club is conducting a "Code for a Cause" fundraiser. They will be collecting pledges and then coding a project during the next meeting. The club has voted and decided to donate funds raised to the "Save a Fox Foundation." If you wish to participate, see Mrs Olson for a pledge sheet. Get ready to code some great projects!

It’s a great day to be a Laser, when we treat one another well.
Hello KMMS students, we are excited to have our second all-school assembly this afternoon and to see our grade level and houses compete in a friendly game of Jeopardy. This should be a great end to our week. All students are getting a break from class and will have an opportunity to socialize and have some fun. In order for us to have future assemblies and grade-wide activities, we are depending on our students to treat one another well. At the assembly this afternoon, here’s what you can do to make sure everyone has a good time:
Keep hands and feet to ourselves, respect the limited personal space everyone has when we’re sitting closely in the bleachers.
If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. No one wants to hear your mean teasing, name calling, and putdowns.
If you see someone starting to ruin someone else’s time, tell them to chill out. Research shows that the majority of teasing and bullying stops when students call out other students and tell them to stop.
Remain quiet and attentive when directions are being given and when questions are being read. If you’re not into the game, that’s fine, just be sure to not ruin it for others.
Take some pride. Cheer well and help your house try to win.
Everyone needs a break from learning and the homework grind. This is a great opportunity for us all. There’s something really cool about bringing Create, Discover, and Navigate all together in our gym as one KM. It’s going to be a great afternoon to be a Laser, if we treat one another well. See you soon.
It’s a great day… to be a LASER!
