Good Morning KMMS,
This week, we celebrate the incredible School Counselors, Mr. Korb and Mrs. Cowan, who support you every single day! Your counselors are so much more than just adults in the school - they're your champions, your listeners, and your guides through some of the most challenging years of your life.
When your world feels like it's spinning too fast, they're there to lend a listening ear and help bring a sense of calm to your day. Struggling with a tough friendship? Feeling stressed about grades? They get it. No judgment, just understanding.
They're not just about scheduling and paperwork. They're the people who see YOU - your potential, your struggles, your hopes. They'll help you navigate everything from class choices to dealing with family stuff, and they'll do it with zero drama and total respect.
Mr. Korb and Mrs. Cowan are that one adult who's 100% on your team. They're listening when no one else seems to hear you. They're believing in you when you might not believe in yourself.
So this week, give them a simple "thanks." They're doing important work, and they're doing it for you.
Thank you Mrs. Cowan and Mr. Korb. KMMS is grateful to have you part of our school!

Band Parents and Students! Our next performance is quickly approaching, so we have a few reminders for our next concert!
February 4th: Students in 3rd and 6th hour Bands along with 6th grade Flutes, Saxophones, Percussion, and Baritones.
February 5th: Students in 4th and 7th hour Bands along with 6th grade Clarinets, Trumpets, and Trombones.
Both concerts will start at 7pm in the large gym at Kettle Moraine Middle School, and students need to arrive at 6:30pm (7th and 8th grade percussion students should arrive at 6:20pm).
Concert Attire: For this performance, all students need to wear our traditional concert black as shown here. Our goal with this is for everyone to wear solid black, and to look as nice as they can. We went over examples with students in class, but please reach out with any questions or clarifications.
Fundraising for a Cause: Our 7th Grade students have chosen HAWS as our charity/non-profit of choice to raise awareness and funds in line with our mission of a “charity concert”. The students have been researching organizations in our area to support and have voted on HAWS as the top charity of choice this year. In line with the mission of using music to support a cause, we are asking families to consider donating to HAWS at the concert. Both cash and online donations will be accepted, and we will have more information about HAWS during the concert. If you are able to, we would love it if you can support the mission!
Are you interested in playing high school football? There will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, February 19 at 7:30pm at the high school auditorium.
It's time again to show the teachers and staff how much they are appreciated! We will be providing a meal for all staff to enjoy on Thursday, February 13 which is the afternoon of teacher conferences. If you would like to contribute please sign up HERE.
The KM Forensics team, where students speak with confidence and conviction, came away with some heavy metal on Friday at Longfellow Middle School in Wauwatosa.
The team took home 13 medals. Six Lasers were awarded Gold Medals, including Jolie K, Anabelle G, Taylor A, Elsa K, Kassidy W, and Kristen M, Riley S, Emma M, and Jules H secured Silver Medals, while Cass N, Ellen D and Grey L earned a Bronze Medal.
In all, 25 students received State qualifying scores, but best of all, every team member improved. Their sights are now set on the next meet in Slinger, Wisconsin. Good luck as you continue to hone your speaking skills.
In this virtual class, students will learn essential fundamentals to build a strong base in the Spanish language. Months of the year, telling time, present tense verb conjugations and sentence structure are just a few of the topics covered!
