Good morning, Kettle Moraine Middle School, and happy Friday. I want to begin this message by applauding and thanking our students for putting their best foot forward on all of the recent testing. By the end of next week, besides makeups, we will be officially done. Please continue to put your best foot forward next week.
Another special shout-out to our 8th grade students and their teachers for completing the first ever Pre-ACT test here at KMMS. Thank you to our teachers for their work to learn about this new test and how to proctor it, and getting everything organized. 8th graders, your teachers said you did great and followed the strict rules of the testing environment - thank you.
We are now officially less than two weeks away from the KMMS Showcase of Learning and want to update you on expectations for that night. Of the two hours that night, students are expected to be at their project for a total of 45 minutes.
Wed, 4/24
Last Names A-F present 5:00-5:45PM
Last Names G-L present 6:00-6:45PM
Thurs, 4/25
Last Names M-R present 5:00-5:45PM
Last Names S-Z present 6:00-6:45PM
During that 45 minutes, we are hoping you get the chance to present your project at least 5-7 times. Please encourage your parents to go see friends of yours projects, other neighborhood acquaintances, or to just walk around and stop by projects that pique their interest. Any projects from Mr. Gutbrod’s classes, 6th, 7th or 8th grade, will be in the small gym. All other subject areas will be presented in your house areas. By only presenting for 45 minutes, you will have the opportunity to stay and see your friend’s projects who present later, to see younger or older siblings’ projects, or to go with parents or friends to the food truck from Mr. P’s that will be there that night selling food.
From testing to showcase presenting, stress levels can be higher which means it is that much more important to be patient, polite, and good to one another. Because you know, it is a great day to be a Laser when we treat one another well.
It’s a great day… to be a LASER!
