Did you know that there is a special day to recognize the spouses of military members?  The Friday before Mother’s Day is set aside each year to be Military Spouse Appreciation Day.  Being the spouse of a military member can be a difficult job, and the sacrifices of those who have done it help contribute to the United States being the incredible military power that it is!  Whether it means relocating their family to a different state or working hard at their own jobs and taking care of things at home while separated from their spouse for an extended period of time, military spouses serve our country along with their loved ones.

Students - Whether you are walking home, getting picked up or riding your bike, ALWAYS cross at the marked crosswalk. This is where adults are stationed to help you cross Ottawa Ave safely.  Please remember to also use the sidewalk after you have crossed the street.

Drivers - Please be patient as we close out the school year and battle the congestion and increased traffic due to the Bridge work on Hwy 18.  We are all looking forward to this project being completed… hopefully before the end of the school year!

Please remind your student to use the crosswalk and sidewalks. Please be alert and watch for pedestrians and stop for people in crosswalks. Thanks for working together to make our community safer.

Kettle Moraine Trap and Sporting Clays Team hosted their Annual KM Invite this weekend at Wern Valley Sportsman's Club and Fin and Feather Sportsman's Club. We had over 600 plus participants from 13 teams compete. This year's KM Invite was a great success and we would like to thank all that volunteered this year!   

The team of Anthony B, Gabriel Walker, and Haley B took home a 1st place medal in Sporting Clays Intermediate Entry Level Division. 

The team of Camden Z, Lukas B, and Danny B took home 2nd place wins in Sporting Clays Junior Varsity Division.

Overall winners in 2nd place Sporting Clays Intermediate Entry Level Men's Division was Anthony B.

Overall winner in 3rd place Sporting Clays Intermediate Entry Level Men's Division was Gabriel W.

Overall winner in 1st place Sporting Clays Intermediate Entry Level Women's Division was Haley B.

Overall winner in 3rd place Sporting Clays Intermediate Advanced Women's Division was Samantha S.

7th graders are invited to apply to be WEB leaders for next year’s WEB activities. We are looking for students who have a positive attitude about KMMS and enjoy building relationships and encouraging others. Applications are available from 7th grade teachers or in the office. WEB leaders must be available for training day, August 28th and WEB day, August 29th, 2024. Applications are due Thursday, May 30th. If you have questions about WEB, please contact Mrs. Olson or Mrs. Hoffman.

Learning lab is on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2:45 - 4:00 in the library. All students not going to the Learning lab must have rides arriving prior to 3pm. Only those students may wait in the vestibule just inside the front doors. 

The last meeting for the Student Senate will be Monday, May 20th after school. We will be having a pizza party. Please contact Mrs. McCaffery and Mrs. Hoffman via email to RSVP so that there are enough treats for all.

Time to celebrate the end of another successful school year! All KMMS families and current 5th Grade KM families are invited to the KMMS PTO second annual Summer Kick Off Bash where there will be concessions, kickball, yard games, a bounce house and a silent auction with music provided by DJ Otto. NEW THIS YEAR - Take a turn at dunking an 8th grader in our Dunk Tank!

In order to make this a successful community event, we need your help!  Please consider signing up for a volunteer slot (most are only 1/2 hour!) and then hang out at the Bash with your family and friends for the remainder of the event. Here is the link for the sign up genius.

The last Coding Club meeting is May 21.

KM Global will be hosting an artisan craft fair at Kettle Moraine High School on Saturday, May 18th! This capstone project is a cornerstone of Global's learning. Students get the opportunity to build a community event to benefit a local organization. 100% of the proceeds from this event (from vendor fees, donations, food truck partnerships, etc.) will be donated to our friends at the Hunger Task Force. The market will start at 9:00am and end at 12:00pm in the KM high school parking lot. Join us to shop all of these wonderful products! The students from the Kettle Moraine Special Education Department are proud to announce their 4th annual craft fair event in conjunction with many other area high schools! Proceeds will be used to enable students to participate in more community outings and expand their social skills. Hand-crafted by students.

Interested in being part of the KM Jr. Laser Dance Team for next school year?  Students entering grades 6-8 will practice twice per week beginning in July and going through October.   We will perform Saturday mornings at the local youth football games.  Sign up today at https://kmsd.revtrak.net/rwcommunityeducation/  Anyone who may be interested is welcome to attend an open gym to try it on Monday, June 3rd from 6-8 at KM Middle School.

Any current 8th grader interested in playing at the high school in the fall can visit the KM Boys Volleyball website for more information. We have open gyms all summer. Tryouts begin August 19th.

Please come to the 8th grade open area (right side) at 11:05 today for the end of the year pizza party to celebrate all of your hard work this school year. From giving tours to families,  to making new students feel welcome, to visiting a fifth grade classroom, to helping us recognize children's grief awareness day and beyond, your involvement in the program is greatly appreciated and valued. Please bring a pencil.
