The US Navy is the branch of the United States Armed Forces that protects America at sea. The mission of the Navy is to “defend freedom, preserve economic prosperity, and keep the seas open and free,” alongside our nation’s allies and partners. America’s naval service first began in 1775, when the Continental Congress authorized a few small ships during the Revolutionary War. Today, the US Navy has more than 344,000 active duty members and is a global power upholding the values of honor, courage, and commitment. KMMS is thankful to past and present members of the US Navy!

Several students from Mrs. Gehrke's Literacy class are collecting donations to local nonprofits as part of their passion projects. Please look in the front entry hallway to find boxes where you can drop off items for HAWS, the Hope Center, or a local women's shelter! Items needed include hygienic items, water bottles, garbage bags, pet food, paper towels, and many more. Check the boxes and posters in the front entryway for a full list! Thank you for considering supporting these great causes.
Students - Whether you are walking home, getting picked up or riding your bike, ALWAYS cross at the marked crosswalk. This is where adults are stationed to help you cross Ottawa Ave safely. Please remember to also use the sidewalk after you have crossed the street.
Drivers - Please be patient as we close out the school year and battle the congestion and increased traffic due to the Bridge work on Hwy 18. We are all looking forward to this project being completed… hopefully before the end of the school year!
Please remind your student to use the crosswalk and sidewalks. Please be alert and watch for pedestrians and stop for people in crosswalks. Thanks for working together to make our community safer.
