September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. The goal of this month is to shift public perception away from stigma, spread hope to those touched by a suicide, and to share vital information with communities affected by suicide. This month is dedicated to ensuring that individuals, friends, and families have access to the resources they need to discuss suicide prevention and to seek help if necessary.

KMMPA HOMECOMING CHILI/MAC & CHEESE DINNER!!! Kettle Moraine Music Parents is once again hosting the Homecoming Chili/Mac N Cheese Dinner on September 27th from 4pm - 7pm at the KM High School cafeteria. This is our biggest fundraising event of the year and 100% of the proceeds go directly back into supporting music programs in KMSD. We look forward to seeing you on Sept 27th. KM MUSIC PARENTS ASSOCIATION MEETS TODAY

We'll be discussing the Homecoming Chili Dinner, Fall music events across KM and the Auditorium renovation fundraising. All parents/guardians of music students are welcome to participate.

LASER LADIES OF STEM

Ladies, are you interested in all things STEM and want to participate in an all ladies activity? Laser Ladies of STEM is having its 3rd annual event this school year! This year we are starting by gathering 8th grade ladies who are interested in a leadership role or serving on a committee for the event. No experience necessary, just touch base with Mrs Olson via email or in person to sign up for our first meeting on Wednesday, September 18th. Once the 8th graders convene, 6th and 7th grade girls are welcome to sign up to attend this coveted event. In past years, we've had around 120 girls attend each event and we had a blast! We hope you can join us! 

JUNIOR LASER GOLF TEAM TRYOUTS

Introducing #JuniorLasersGolf! Tryouts will take place at Western Lakes Golf Club in September & October. Boys and girls residing in Kettle Moraine in 3rd - 8th grades are eligible. All skill levels are encouraged to try out. Participants need to only attend one tryout date. Practices will be held at Junior Cup Golf’s indoor facility in Waukesha January-April with outdoor matches in early Spring.

BLESSINGS IN A BACKPACK

Kettle Moraine Middle School is a proud partner of a non-profit organization called Blessings in a Backpack. Through this partnership, your child is eligible to be a recipient of the Blessings in a Backpack program. This program is currently in all of the Kettle Moraine Elementary schools.  

The program is designed to provide non-perishable food every Friday to children that would benefit from supplemental nourishment over the weekend. The program runs the full school year and there is no cost to participate. If you choose to participate, your child will receive a bag of non-perishable food every Friday which will be distributed in a discreet and caring manner. Food distribution will begin Friday, September 20th.

STUDENT SENATE

Student Senate will meet on one Monday and Tuesday each month after school until 4pm in the 6 Inspire House Open area. The next meeting is on September 17th.

The Congressional App Challenge has started for those students who were able to attend the last Coding Club meeting. If you still want to participate, you are welcome to do so in a team as large as 4 people. Just email Mrs. Olson or stop in to talk with her. Our next meeting is Tuesday, September 24th right after school until 4:15.

LEARNING LAB

Learning lab is on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2:45 - 4:00 in the library. All students not going to the Learning lab must have rides arriving prior to 3pm. Only those students may wait in the vestibule just inside the front doors.
