KM’s equestrian club will once again be competing with the Wisconsin Interscholastic Horsemanship Association (WIHA) this season. The District 1 regional competition will be held September 28th and 29th at the Elkhorn Equestrian Center at the Walworth County Fairgrounds. The top 2 teams from each division earn the right to compete as State, which is held the last weekend in October at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison.
KMET is the defending Division B State Champion team. They are looking forward to bringing their A game and showing well at the regional event. The equine competition is free to the public to attend, and spectators are always welcome! Come cheer on the Lasers and their equine partners! Good Luck
Olivia T (8th grade) and Julia F (7th grade)!!!

Students, you should only enter the food court if you are planning to purchase something during lunch. If your friend is planning to purchase food, but you aren’t, you can meet your friend when they leave the food court area. This will help to reduce crowd sizes. We also ask that students wait until they have paid for their food items before they unwrap, open, or begin eating them. Thank you for helping to keep our lunch room organized and safe!
8th Graders - If you're interested in hands-on experiences with trades such as welding, cement work, carpentry, automation, and engineering, consider attending the Trade Expo Field Trip! This event takes place at the Waukesha County Expo Center on Thursday, October 10th. Students who attend will eat during 7th grade lunch that day (starting at 10:30), and will be gone from the middle school from 10:50-1:55. This is a great opportunity to connect with local employers and learn about career paths in the trades! To claim your spot, have a parent sign you up on the parent portal of Infinite Campus. The fee is called "MS 8th Gr Optional Career Fair." Any questions? Contact Mr. Korb at korbstephen@kmsd.edu

There are 35 million amputees and disabled people worldwide who need prosthetic devices but do not have access to them?
Traditional prosthetic legs cost between $10,000-$25,000 -- an unattainable price for someone making $3 per day
8th graders in Healthy & Active Lifestyles are participating in a 5K to raise awareness for Hope to Walk. Hope to Walk is a non-profit organization that helps the impoverished people of the world. Millions of amputees worldwide depend on wheelchairs and crutches. Some are even forced to crawl simply because they cannot afford prosthetics. Please consider donating. See the signs around school or get the link in the announcements for more details and to make a donation.
Last year, we raised over $500 and were able to provide 2 prosthetic legs! The recipients were Francisco (age 62) and Mercedes del Carmen (age 64) both from Honduras. Please consider donating!
