National Teacher Assistant Day is observed annually on the last Friday of September which was September 26th. Sadly, we missed it, so let's celebrate our awesome, dedicated TA's today! Their hard work and support of our students is so appreciated.
So, if you see Mrs. Davison, Mrs. Donovan, Mrs. Frey, Mrs. Grisar, Mrs. Herbert, Mrs. Reisner, Mrs. Rivera and Mrs. Schwalbach extend a big THANK YOU for all their hard work and patience.
KMMS appreciates you all!
The Patriot’s Pen scholarship is available to ALL students in grades 6-8 and is sponsored by the local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Oconomowoc. To apply for this scholarship, you must write a 300-400 word essay on the topic, “How are you showing patriotism and support for our country?” You must also pick up an application flyer in the front office.
New this year: applications are submitted online using the QR code found on the flyer. You do not need to mail anything to the VFW Post.
Many winners nationwide will be selected, with at least one winner from each state receiving a prize of $500 or more. In addition to the prizes at the State and National level, the local Oconomowoc post offers prizes for 1st ($100), 2nd ($50) and 3rd ($25) place. Your application and essay must be submitted online by October 31. With questions, please feel free to contact your school counselor (Mr. Korb or Mrs. Cowan).

Good morning KMMS!
You’ll start to notice colorful posters created by the Student Ambassadors that say, “You can do hard things.” These posters are more than just decorations—they’re reminders about grit. Grit means sticking with something even when it’s challenging and not giving up when things get tough.
Life isn’t always easy—and as you grow, it will bring bigger challenges. But remember: you can do hard things. Every time you push through something difficult, you become stronger, more confident, and better prepared for what comes next.
So when you see these signs, let them remind you: life will get harder, but you are capable—you can do hard things!
Attention 8th grade students!
The Explorers’ Club will start off the year with an 8th grade trip to Six Flags for an evening at Fright Fest. This is a fun trip that is very popular with our students. We will leave the Middle School after school on Friday, October 24th, and return to the Middle School at approximately 11:45 that evening. Forms are due by October 7th but get those forms in as this trip is a first come first served opportunity. Once the buses are full, no more students can attend. See Mrs. Hamilton with questions.
Support our Ambassador Program by purchasing a Kindness Shirt—starting at just $24.99! Every dollar raised goes directly toward funding random acts of kindness throughout our school community. Wear your shirt proudly and help us spread kindness, one good deed at a time.
Please place your order by October 10th, and contact Mrs. Cowan or Ms. Cuzman with any questions.
