Principal's Post

Hello KMMS families,

We want to thank our families and students for participating in a virtual day of learning. Please be aware that our teachers will show grace to students who did not have power, and therefore WiFi, and could not log on. They will touch base with students next week if they were unable to attend. Parents, please log absences in Infinite Campus and let us know if you have any questions.

We also want to highlight a message that went out earlier this week inviting 6th and 7th grade families to an information night on January 31, 2024, here at KMMS. The purpose of this information night is to provide information about the learning environment restructuring due to the elimination of the Summit platform. The night begins at 6:00 PM. The information from that night will also be sent out in written communication.

Have a great weekend,

Matt Kitzerow
KMMS Principal

KMMS Orchestra's Newest Instruments

It’s ELECTRIC….in Orchestra!

Seventh and eighth grade orchestra students have begun a unit exploring electric instruments and digital sound production with Ms. Weber. Students are learning the basics of sound production, including how pickups on electric instruments capture vibrations, turn them into soundwaves, and then translate those soundwaves into electronic signals that are then sent to an exterior amplifier. Students have enjoyed this modernized unit, and have already requested opportunities to perform on these instruments at upcoming concerts!

The electric instruments and accessories are property of KM, and have been acquired over the years through support of the Kettle Moraine Music Parents’ Association, corporate partnerships, as well as generous private donations.

On Tuesday evening, January 23rd beginning at 6:30pm in the KMHS library, district leadership will be hosting a listening session regarding class sizes. Here are some of the topics that will be addressed:

  • a comparison to neighboring districts

The KMMS PTO is looking for a few dedicated people to spearhead a fundraising committee, for the Middle School. Committee members would be involved in creating an annual, large-scale fundraiser that would fund initiatives aligned to the vision and mission of the KMMS PTO .
