Hello KMMS families,

We are expecting a great turn-out for tonight’s middle school dance! Thank you to our PTO and Student Senate for their work to make this event happen for our students. 

This morning’s principal announcement focused on students treating one another well tonight at the dance to ensure everyone has a good time. The announcement listed a variety of expectations of students to encourage them to make that happen. I want to highlight the talking points about cell phones with our parents and ask parents to provide a similar message to their children before they are dropped off tonight. The dance is different from the school day in that at the dance, students may have their cell phones out. This comes with a big responsibility to use it appropriately, specifically making sure students are not taking any videos or pictures of other people without their consent. We like to be upfront with students, so we informed them that if cell phones are used to embarrass or humiliate others, they will be subject to school discipline. 

Young people can rise to the occasion when they know what is expected of them. Any extra emphasis from our parents can make a big impact. Thank you for your partnership!

Students in Healthy & Active Lifestyles learned skills for Family & Friends CPR and earned their AHA Heartsaver First Aid Certification. 

Dine for Dollars at Noodles and Company in Delafield is quickly approaching. It is next Thursday,  January 11, 2024, from 4 to 8 pm.

The dance is TODAY, Friday, January 5th in the old gym, from 6 to 8 pm. It costs $5, and you will have to bring your school ID. Student Senate and the KMMS PTO are jointly sponsoring the "Winter Wonderland" dance.

The KMMS PTO is looking for a few dedicated people to spearhead a fundraising committee, for the Middle School. Committee members would be involved in creating an annual, large-scale fundraiser that would fund initiatives aligned to the vision and mission of the KMMS PTO . In Calm and Chairful Yoga, participants perform a series of gentle and fluid movements, stretches, and breathing exercises while seated on a stable chair or using it for balance and support. Need that extra push to get started on an exercise program? Make it easy by joining the longest running aerobics class in the Lake Country area. For over 30 years we’ve been getting this community into shape and making friends at the same time. All of our programs will be getting new items this year, so it’s critical that everyone sign up before January 31st.
For high school boys and girls, keep an eye out for information coming from your head coaches on what’s new for you.
For youth boys and girls, we will be getting a much needed (and frequently requested) uniform upgrade. This includes not only new uniforms, but also a practice pinnie and shooter shirt in each pack. Sign up now and watch for details on attending a Try-On event in the near future to get a new uniform that fits properly. If you don’t sign up, you may miss this information for the Try-On fitting event.
