Hello KMMS Families,
Our November theme at KMMS is “It’s a great day to be a Laser when we are safe and responsible.” This month’s announcements and Principal Talk have focused on:
• The “see something, say something” principle
• ACT (Acknowledge–Care–Tell) when you’re concerned about someone’s safety or well-being • Safe and appropriate bus and hallway behavior • Internet safety and responsible use of KM email and school devices
Last spring, 90.48% of students reported feeling safe at school on the School Perceptions survey. Working together, we want all of our students to feel safe. We appreciate everything our families do to reinforce safe and responsible behavior. As we know, an unsafe environment negatively affects learning, culture, and relationships.
To help spark constructive dialogue at home, here are a few suggested questions:
• What does being safe and responsible look like for you during the school day, whether in the hallways, on the bus, or during transitions?
• How do you stay focused and avoid distractions when using your KM email or Chromebook for schoolwork? • What’s one responsible choice you made recently, either in person or online, that helped make school safer or helped you stay on track?
Thank you for your ongoing support,
Matt Kitzerow KMMS Principal
Laura Lloyd KMMS Associate Principal

|
|
At the end of the day on Tuesday before Thanksgiving break, we will have an assembly at KMMS. There will be a Dodge Ball Tournament between the grades. We need at least 24 students from each grade/house to complete the teams. Create and 8 Inspire are short Dodgeball players to fill their teams.
During the intermission we’ll have a Turkey Trot race. All turkey trotters will be given a turkey hat and gloves to wear during the race and take home afterward. We would like all 8th graders to wear black, 7th graders to wear blue, 6th graders to wear gold and Create to wear white. Form to apply to participate |
