Principal's Post

Hello KMMS families,

We are thrilled to share that our school has once again "Significantly Exceeded Expectations" on the Wisconsin State Report Card! This remarkable achievement reflects the extraordinary dedication of our incredible teachers, the hard work and passion of our students, and the tremendous support of our families. While we celebrate this recognition, we want to emphasize that our school's true strength lies beyond any single metric. The unique partnerships we've built, the wide variety of opportunities we create for our students, and the collaborative spirit among our staff, students, and families are what truly make our school special. This report card is just one snapshot of our ongoing commitment to educational excellence, and we are grateful for every member of our school community who contributes to making our learning environment exceptional.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Matt Kitzerow

Best Buddies @ KMMS

Best Buddies had another great event this week! The students enjoyed engaging in a variety of fun activities, including beach ball volleyball, bags, biking, and basketball. The energy and excitement were contagious, and everyone had a blast! Thank you to Miss Pasternak, one of the Physical Education teachers at the Middle School, for helping to host the event!

From the Health Room

Healthroom Graphic

While we are seeing many different illnesses in the district, which is typical for this time of year, we have seen an increase in pneumonia in all of the Kettle Moraine schools,  as well as statewide.

Pneumonia is an infection of the lungs. Most pneumonia is caused by bacteria or a virus. People with pneumonia usually complain of coughing, mucus production, fever, fatigue,  shortness of breath, and/or chest pain.  It is important to monitor your child and keep them home if they become ill.  If you suspect pneumonia based on the signs or symptoms, see your doctor as soon as possible. Please inform your students' health room of a pneumonia diagnosis.

It can be difficult to know when a child is too ill to attend school. Our illness guidelines provide you with information to help guide your decision.

A student with the following symptoms should stay home:

  • Fever of 100.4 degrees or higher (must be fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication).

  • Vomiting (any episode within last 24 hours)

  • Diarrhea/Watery Stool (any episode within the last 24 hours)

  • Persistent cough producing mucus or shortness of breath

  • Sore Throat accompanied by a fever or body aches and fatigue

  • Feeling lethargic or ill where they cannot participate comfortably in school activities.

Please reach out to the health room with any questions or concerns.
