Principal's Post

Hello KMMS families,

We hope everyone is having a great week and preparations for the upcoming holidays are going well. This is an exciting time of the year and we can tell our students were “excited” today… Friday the 13th... Full moon, perhaps? No major issues, just excitement and extra energy from 725 students today.

As a reminder, we're excited to celebrate our students' remarkable achievements with a special field trip next Friday. Sometimes it is nice just to pause, tell our students they’re doing a great job, and do something fun. We have the cool opportunity to see the new movie Mufasa on its release date of December 20th. This day is a wonderful opportunity to recognize our students' hard work, their resilience in adapting to changes this year, and our continued success on the state report card. Before we go on that field trip, teachers will go over these expectations with our students as they relate to the day’s schedule, cell phones, concessions, and representing KM.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Matt Kitzerow
KMMS Principal

KMMS Military Homecoming

Malenna S. had a wonderful Christmas surprise today at lunch. Her dad, STC Matthew Shotliff-Brambilla, arrived home from deployment overseas this week. Thank you STC Shotliff-Brambilla for your service to the U.S.A. Welcome home and Merry Christmas!

Circuits, Motors & LCD Screens Oh, My

Mrs Olson's 8th grade Computer Essentials students are currently working on wiring/programming circuits, including DC motors, RGB lights, LCD screens and servo motors. This week Mr VanMersbergen (Pieper Power) visited the class and shared his experience from being an electrician and electrical engineer. Students got to see tools of the trade, learn about safety and show off some projects that they are working on. Students also had a chance to ask questions as well as try using the tools and wearing an arc suit. What a great way to learn about careers associated with our circuits unit of study!
