Principal's Post

Hello KMMS families,

Navigating the middle school years can be a challenging time for both students and parents. As your child begins to assert their independence, they may express a desire for more autonomy, and the idea of parental involvement at school might not always be met with enthusiasm. However, it's crucial to recognize the importance of maintaining a strong partnership with your middle schooler during this transitional phase.

We are very fortunate to have a middle school, district, and community that provides our young people with many opportunities. We are interested in hearing from you about how we can continue to include you as parents, or how we can foster new opportunities for parents moving forward.

This survey was sent to families yesterday. Thank you for your time in providing feedback to us.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Matt Kitzerow

KMMS Jeopardy - All School Assembly

The KMMS students all headed to the new gym Friday afternoon to watch five students from each grade level compete in a team Jeopardy game. The questions and rules were created by the Student Senate. A cadre of teachers served as the "Phone a Teacher" help-line. Fun was had by all. The seventh grade earned bragging rights by winning the most points.

KMGBC 8th Grade Basketball Service Project

For the Kettle Moraine Girls Basketball Club (KMGBC) 8th Grade Community Project this year, the Class of 2028 raised funds to support the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. The NICU plays a vital role in caring for babies born premature in our community. Premature babies can spend days, weeks, and even months in the NICU while they gain strength to eventually go home, making the time that parents get to spend with their babies vital. The Waukesha Hospital NICU attempts to normalize and create positive memories during their stay in the hospital. One of the ways they do that is by taking holiday themed pictures and encouraging ‘normal’ holiday celebrations.  Both 8th grade teams worked together to create promotional materials and collected donations at our 29th annual Sweetheart Tourney.  The players surpassed their goal of raising $500 by collecting a total of $1,530 along with a number of holiday themed preemie outfits!  All of the money raised will be used to purchase additional preemie holiday clothing and all donations will be given to the Waukesha Memorial NICU.  Thank you to all of you who supported the 8th graders!
