Hello KMMS Families,
As you know, grit has been a theme at KMMS this year. We’ve focused on developing grit while forming academic habits, treating people well and navigating social situations, being safe and responsible, and holding ourselves accountable.
We are excited to invite Tasha Schuh to come speak to our students on Wednesday, March 4th. Here is a letter from Tasha’s team. Good afternoon KMMS parents,
We have the privilege of hosting inspirational speaker, Tasha Schuh, at KMMS.
Tasha will share her story of having a life-changing theater accident at the age of 16, that left her a quadriplegic. PATH – an acronym for Purpose, Attitude, Team and Hope – represents the tools Tasha has learned that have helped her learn resilience and grit in her journey and that can help students cope.
Our students will hear about: The importance of having a positive attitude The importance of surrounding themselves with the right people
How to find purpose in their daily lives Tangible ways to improve their mental health through resilience The importance of knowing that it's okay to ask for help
These times are challenging for numerous reasons. Tasha’s story of tragedy, transformation, and triumph, however, will let our students know that no matter how difficult things can get, there is hope. If you would like to learn more about Tasha, her website is www.tashaschuh.com.
We look forward to hosting Tasha next week! Matt Kitzerow KMMS Principal Laura Lloyd

8 Inspire: 44 items Create: 107 items Items in office bin: 25
Our school collected 526 items for the food pantry. We were shooting for at least 1 item per student, but we are confident that the donation will be appreciated by those who are served by The Waukesha Food Pantry. |

The Computer Science programs in grades 6, 7 and 8 drive student engagement by providing a curriculum that is more and more hands-on. This requires a great deal of equipment that students can program or take apart in a manner similar to what is done in future careers. This article features students that take time out of their day to help either fix components or put computers back together. Without their help, the program would be incredibly time demanding or equipment might not be available for student work..
Featured below are Kellen K and Gavin M putting computers back together after 8th graders disassembled them to learn about different parts. Also featured is Adrianna S & Ali W who spend time soldering DC motors from the Arduino unit of study and fixing drones. Huge thanks to these students for their commitment to the computer science program |

KM Community Center Programming Survey |
|
|
Our planning team is making wonderful progress on the new Community Center at the Magee Campus and will start offering programming for the 2026-27 school year. As part of this process, we are looking for input from our KM Community on offerings and schedules that most appeal to you.
Please visit: https://forms.gle/tdf3x9Z84sfQ14At7 to complete the Community Center survey by February 27th.
This survey is open to everyone, residents and non-residents of all ages, who may be interested in utilizing the Community Center. Pre-school, senior and adult programming are an important part of this planning, so please share this link with family and friends who do not currently have children in school. Community vitality thrives when learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door. At Kettle Moraine, we see education as a lifelong journey—one that is enriched by recreation, connection, and shared experiences across generations. By intentionally designing programs that meet real community needs, we are creating spaces where learning feels natural, accessible, and welcoming. That belief is shaping the vision for the new KM Community Center at the Magee Campus.
