Hello KMMS Families,
We look forward to seeing many of you next week for Parent-Teacher Conferences at KMMS on Thursday, 2/6 from 3:30-6:30pm or Friday, 2/7 from 7:00-10:30am. There is still time to sign up, please check your inboxes with a message from your child’s teachers.
It’s that time of the year for students returning to KMMS next year to start thinking about what elective classes they would prefer to take next year for the 2026-27 school year. Here are 7th and 8th registration guides that list options for students that you can discuss. Our course description guide provides more detailed information on classes.
By the way, our students rated our elective classes as a very positive part of their experience at KMMS. We had 630 students take a survey in January, and 98.1% agreed or strongly agreed that they were learning new knowledge and skills in their elective classes. Overall, the students surveyed rated their educational growth very positively, with 94.% of students who agreed or strongly agreed they were growing as a reader and 96.5% who said they were learning and improving their math skills this school year.

| | Carson Scholars Award Nominee
KMMS is proud to name 8th grader, Sofia K., as our nominee for the 2026 Carson Scholars Award. The purpose of the Carson Scholars Program is to recognize and reward outstanding students in the United States who exemplify academic excellence and humanitarian qualities. Sofia’s achievements include exemplary grades and attendance, as well as active involvement in our Student Senate and Laser Ladies of STEM. Possibly Sofia’s most unique achievement is that she created and leads our school’s Book Club, which has been a way for Sofia to give back to the school while honing her leadership skills. Congratulations, Sofia!

True Grit Award
For the fourth year, KMMS partnered with the Lake Country Optimist Club to offer the True Grit Award for our students. This award is given to a student displaying exemplary resilience, perseverance, and optimism while also modeling the respectful and responsible behavior associated with being a true Laser! We are pleased to announce that 8th grader, Bryn M., has been selected as our school's winner of the True Grit Award for the 2025-26 school year. Bryn is well-deserving of this award due to her remarkable personal growth this school year. We can’t wait to see Bryn achieve even greater things as she finishes middle school and moves up to high school! Keep up the great work, Bryn!
