Principal's Post

Hello KMMS Families,

We want to take a moment to thank all of our students for putting forth their best effort on the FORWARD exam, our state assessment. We also extend our appreciation to families for their continued support. The final test make ups for any students must take place before April 24th. If your student missed one of the testing dates this past week, teachers will make a plan for them to complete it.

If you missed our earlier message, here’s a helpful FAQ covering everything you need to know about the 3rd Annual Showcase of Learning, happening Wednesday, April 29th and Thursday, April 30th. Come hungry for food trucks, see your child and other student’s projects, play Showcase Bingo, and win prizes. Bring grandma and grandpa, any neighborhood friends thinking about enrolling in KM, and more!

Have a great weekend KM,

Matt Kitzerow

KMMS Fluid Power Teams Go to MSOE

The Kettle Moraine School District demonstrated its commitment to high-level STEM education today as six middle school teams participated in the NFPA Fluid Power Action Challenge Workshop at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). These students, nominated for their exceptional visual and technical skills, spent the day at the Kern Center learning the fundamentals of pneumatic power by constructing rotating platforms and lifters. This hands-on workshop serves as the foundation for an intensive design period; over the next month, these students will return to their classrooms to engineer, test, and document a unique fluid power machine. The teams will reconvene at MSOE on May 12, 2026, for the official Challenge Day, where they will compete in a timed environment to prove the effectiveness of their designs.

Fall Youth Volleyball

The Kettle Moraine Youth Volleyball Committee is excited to announce that assessments for the Fall 2026 season will be held in May!  Boys and girls entering grades 5-8 in the fall of 2026 are eligible to participate in the league. While these are not “try outs” in the traditional sense as each child will have a spot, rather they will be assessments on skill level to determine which team (A, B, or C) your child will be placed on. Practices are held twice per week August-October with league play on the weekends.  Enrollment is limited.

Dates:
May 12th, 14th and 15th
·         Incoming 5th and 6th grade from 6pm until 7pm at KMHS West Gym
·         Incoming 7th and 8th grade from 7:30pm until 9pm at KMHS West Gym
The first two dates are required with the third date highly encouraged.

Our goal is to create a positive experience giving athletes multiple opportunities to showcase their skills without the stress of a single assessment day. For further information or to register, visit www. https://kettlemorainevolleyball.sportngin.com/.  Sign up today and we look forward to seeing your athlete on the court in May!  There is a parent informational meeting on April 27 at 6pm in the high school library.
