Principal's Post

Hello KMMS families,

We hope everyone had a wonderful spring break. We are officially into the final quarter of the 2023-24 school year. April is no joke. It’s busy -  like really busy! To best prepare for a busy month that includes state testing, projects, the Showcase of Learning, and more, it is imperative that our students are well rested and physically and mentally prepared for everything on their plates.

Did you know that last spring 51% of KMMS students said they “don’t get enough sleep” when asked what makes learning hard for them? Getting a good night’s rest is imperative for our students. Small changes, like keeping cellphones out of students’ bedrooms and instead charging overnight in a common living space, like the kitchen, can go a long way in helping students eliminate distractions to good sleep.

Everyone at KMMS appreciates your support. We imagine sometimes it is a battle to make sure that your student is well-rested, that they are in school as much as possible, and that they approach their education with a positive attitude to learn and work with others. Thank you for all that you do!

Have a wonderful weekend,

Matt Kitzerow
