Principal's Post

Hello KMMS families,

We want to thank our parents who completed the School Perceptions survey earlier this spring. This survey data is really important to us and was the basis for our Community Relations goal. Parents were asked to respond to the statement, “There is a healthy culture at our school.” In spring 2023, 72.30% of KMMS parents responded positively. We are pleased to report that this spring, 84.95% of parents responded positively!

A healthy school culture is key to student success, boosting engagement and motivation by fostering a sense of belonging. It leads to better academic performance, attendance, and behavior while supporting students' social and emotional growth. Teachers also benefit from a supportive environment, which increases job satisfaction and retention. Additionally, a positive school culture encourages parent and community involvement, further enhancing student achievement.

We are proud of KMMS and the 2023-24 school year, and are very appreciative of our parents’ support!

Have a great weekend,

Matt Kitzerow

KMMS Band & Orchestra @ Beyond the Notes

Last Thursday our KMMS 8th Grade Bands travelled to the Beyond the Notes Festival at the Kalahari Resort in the Wisconsin Dells. As part of the festival, our students performed a concert, participated in clinics to receive feedback on their performance, and enjoyed time in the waterpark and adventure park. Congratulations to all of our students and directors on a successful festival!

Message from Deputy Cattani

Dear KMMS Families,

As we maintain our commitment to the safety of our students, I would like to emphasize the importance of responsible driving within school zones. Recently, there has been a noticeable increase in instances where parents are exceeding the posted speed limit on Ottawa Avenue, as well as disregarding the presence of pedestrians and driving through the crosswalk area while there are students/staff present in the road.

In the interest of safeguarding our students and preventing any potential citations for traffic violations, I strongly urge all parents to drive with increased caution and awareness while navigating this area. I would also like to encourage parents to use the designated area on the south side of the building for drop-off/pick-up and to please keep crosswalks reserved for students who are walking in the area.

Thank you for keeping our students safe,

Deputy Cattani

Drop Off & Pick up Reminders & Requests

Students - Whether you are walking home, getting picked up or riding your bike, ALWAYS cross at the marked crosswalk. This is where adults are stationed to help you cross Ottawa Ave safely.  Please remember to also use the sidewalk after you have crossed the street.

Drivers - Please be patient as we close out the school year and battle the congestion and increased traffic due to the Bridge work on Hwy 18.  We are all looking forward to this project being completed...hopefully before the end of the school year!

Please remind your student to use the crosswalk and sidewalks. Please be alert and watch for pedestrians and stop for people in crosswalks.

Thanks for working together to make our community safer.

Kettle Moraine Music Parents

KMMPA Logo

KM Music Parents Association would like to express our sincere appreciation to all those who attended music events this year and donated generously to support our outstanding KM music programs.  We raised over $7300 and awarded $6500 in grants to music teachers.  Those grants included new recording software, music education opportunities for teachers and transportation to music festivals where our students performed -- just to name a few. We are also very excited about the upcoming transformation of the high school auditorium space that will support students throughout KM for future performances. To learn more about the improvements you can click here and you can donate to the Fine Arts Fund to support these renovations here.  Congratulations to all students on the amazing year of music at KM and especially to our graduating seniors!  And remember to save the date for our 2024 Homecoming Chili/Mac N Cheese Dinner fundraiser on Friday Sept 27th.
