The pep band played for a packed house at the first event in our newly renovated auditorium. The atmosphere of excitement and celebration built as visitors entered the redesigned venue, but it was the updated lighting, sound, and fly systems that really stole show. ONE CAMPUS, FIVE SCHOOLS!!! RSVP NOW FOR THE KMHS CAMPUS EXPO – NOVEMBER 6TH FROM 5:30-7PM @KETTLE MORAINE HIGH SCHOOL. KM invites all residents and non-residents to attend a presentation at 5:30, then take some time to talk with administrators, staff, and students from all five of our high schools! This is a great opportunity for middle school families to get a personalized tour, including all of our career pathways and subject areas. KM Mascot Listening Session
OCTOBER 29TH AT 7:00 PM @KMHS LIBRARY!!! The Kettle Moraine School District is offering a listening session/ committee meeting to discuss the future of Captain Laser. We have reached a point where the current costume is in need of replacement and is unfit to wear. This listening session will provide an opportunity for our KM Community to share their thoughts and ideas on how best to represent KM with our next mascot. This event is open to all district residents and will help us develop a number of concepts to present to students.
Our auditorium renovation is close to completion, and while we have a generous naming sponsor, they prefer students select the name. Submit your naming ideas by November 20th. Students will vote on the name and it will be announced at our grand opening early next year.
Visit Legends & Lore October 25-26 from 5:30 – 9:30 PM! Old World Wisconsin provides the backdrop where KM students contribute their performative talents to a variety of skits depicting spooky folklore characters. Arrive early for family-friendly performances.
The DECA Food Drive runs until Monday, October 28. Students will collect bags of food from local neighborhoods and transport to Waukesha Food Pantry. Thanks to Pick 'N Save for the bags and Target for transportation.

KM band programs are running an auditorium fundraiser that allows audience members to submit a silent bid to conduct Wind Symphony on a tune during the District Band Festival. At each concert, we will be informing the audience what the current high bid is and if we have hit our minimum. As a way to kick this off, we did a playful auction "bit" with the audience last night, during our auditorium soft open/pep band concert. We didn't expect any takers, but Mr. Gerber jumped in much to the delight of the audience! He did a great job and will serve as a wonderful example of what is yet to come.
Fright Hike This Weekend
Key Club has been volunteering for Fright Hike for more than 10 years and this weekend marks the event's 25th anniversary. The event is orchestrated by a former KM family so many of the groups hosting a scary scene are students, parents, staff, or alumni. Each year Ms. Gill's Key Club students operate Carn' Evil KM Clowns. A number of other "scenes" are also performed by KM students. Get your tickets now!

LYBA Basketball Deadline
SIGN YOUR ELEMENTARY OR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT UP FOR LYBA BASKETBALL!!! The season begins in December and concludes in February. Grades 3-8 will practice one night per week with Saturday morning games and will be followed by a season ending tournament. Grades 1-2 will meet on Saturday mornings for one hour with practice and game play. Our emphasis will be on knowledge and execution of basketball skills, rules, sportsmanship, fair play and attitude. Eight foot baskets will be used. Sign up by October 27.

KMET Rides to Madison to Defend State Championship!
The WIHA state competition will be held at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison in pavilion two.. The state competition will run all weekend, starting Tonight at 3:00 pm with trail and ranch events. Competition will resume at 8:00 am Saturday with showmanship and equestrian events, and again on Sunday, with driving, speed, and timed events. Mentors Make Us ONE KM
KMHS Chamber Orchestra students traveled to the middle school to coach 8th Grade Orchestra students in preparing a solo on their instruments. The high school coaches developed instructional strategies that pushed our middle schoolers’ musicianship forward in a BIG way. Thank you, KMHS Orchestra for acting as mentors to your younger counterparts!
Child Development in the Field
KMHS CHILD DEVELOPMENT CLASS GAINS VALUABLE FIELD EXPERIENCE!!! Mrs. Jordan's Child Development class took a field trip to Bethlehem Preschool to spend the morning working with 3K and 4K classes. Each student was partnered with a young learner, spending the morning reading books, playing a pumpkin game, and supporting recess. Thanks to the staff at Bethlehem Preschool for an amazing learning experience!

KM Wrestling Club: REGISTRATION FOR THE 2024-2025 SEASON IS NOW OPEN!!! All practice sessions are held on Monday through Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 in the high school wrestling rooms. Practice groups are based on experience / skill level and age group as needed. The Beginner and Intermediate groups practice two days a week for 60 minutes and the Advanced group practices up to four days a week for 90 minutes. For the Beginner group, the season starts the second week in December and concludes the first week in March during our annual Family Night event. The Intermediate and Advanced groups begin practice in the middle of November, finishing up with Team State and Individual State in March.
