Each year, Kettle Moraine Middle School holds an event for girls who are interested in STEM. The event organizes students into groups and assigns a task. The girls then select their materials and devise and build a system to attain that result as effectively as possible. At the end, their projects are tested to see which group obtained the best result. The event is a lot of fun, and it is wonderful to watch these young ladies working together to solve a problem.

WRESTLING "FUN"RAISER!!! Help support Kettle Moraine's Wrestling Team by making a donation. The team has had a successful season, with four members placing first at the Classic 8 Wrestling Conference. The WIAA State Wrestling series officially starts this week, and the team is in need of funds so that they can order new Championship singlets for wrestlers who qualify for State. They also need to pay for necessary practice equipment and fund an overnight trip next season to complete in a tournament.

Emerging Music Educator
Emma Milton is the recipient of Civic Music Milwaukee's Emerging Music Educator of the Year Award. This award is presented to a teacher in their first 5 years in the classroom for their outstanding work in the field of music education. Although we all recognize Emma's amazing contributions to KM daily, what an honor for her to be recognized by an esteemed community organization as well! Congratulations, Emma, from your KM Music and Administrative teams; we are so grateful to have you in Kettle Moraine!
National Merit Finalists
Madeline Bruss (KM Global) and Bridget Duffy (KMHS) have been recognized as Finalists in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Competition. This is truly an incredible academic accomplishment! More than 1.5 million juniors nationwide participate in the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/MNSQT) and less than 1% become semi-finalists. Those students who represent an outstanding academic record throughout high school, are endorsed by their school, and earn college entrance test scores confirming earlier performance on the SAT become finalists. Winners of National Merit Scholarship awards are chosen from these Finalists and Scholarships will be awarded beginning in March, 2025.
Host Families Needed
Foreign exchange students need host families for the 25-26 school year. We have a girl, Ines 16, from Argentina who loves movies, reading, travel, writing, horseback riding, cross country skiing and all things active and outdoors. We also have a boy, Ludwig 16, who enjoys pop music, pets, reading, and sporting events. He plays basketball, soccer and tennis and loves American football. The students' families pay all expenses and provide their medical insurance. Our students speak English and want to learn about America. Exploring Motion at Fine Arts Day
Wales' fourth and fifth grade graders created their own stop-motion video as part of an artist's presentation by James Barany on Fine Arts Day. The students learned about the process of this flipbook-style of animation that involves manipulating objects in still frames. As the frames play sequentially, the viewer feels objects are moving.

Charitable Band Concert
Kettle Moraine Middle School band students donated $762.95 to HAWS! The project was led by 7th Grade students who researched different charities and nonprofits and decided to dedicate their winter performances to HAWS. Students were visited by the mobile outreach unit from HAWS, allowing them to present their donation and learn more about the impact their efforts will have. Thank you to everyone who donated. KMMS Boys Volleyball
We are currently recruiting students for the Kettle Moraine Middle School Boys Volleyball program's Spring 2025 season. Sign up by March 7th to guarantee your spot on the team. The schedule for the season is linked on the sign up form and includes games against Arrowhead as well as a conference tournament. This is a great opportunity to join a successful middle school and high school program and gain valuable skills under coaches Van Dyke (current high school varsity coach) and Gulak (varsity coach 2002-2021). Perform Film-Focus Students Win at WPL Film Festival
The students competed with their original, self-produced film, Doom Scroll, winning top honors for the teen category! We are incredibly proud of these amazing young writers, directors, cinematographers, editors, actors, and musicians. Special thanks to Scott Curty for acting as artist in residence on this project and providing equipment and guidance. Congratulations to Joe Tzougros, Talis Pomeroy, Zoe Oakland, Anika Oakland, Luca Kalman, Rayna Kavalauskas, Lillie Anderson, Norah Reddington, Jayden Dietrich, Aiden Winter, and Mr. Callies. Ski Teams Head to State
Both teams qualified for state again this year and will head to Mt. LaCrosse this weekend for the State Championship, which will be held Sunday and Monday. The event will be live streamed. KM Boys Remain Undefeated after Prep Showcase
The boys won a hard-fought victory against Nicolet, 72-62, on Friday night at Fiserv Forum. It was a great opportunity for them to play in a large venue and they definitely showed up. Roman Thompson was awarded player of the game with his third stellar performance of the week.

Mrs. Yeager and Mrs. Prokop shared photos of recent student work at KMHS. Our high school provides incredible opportunities for young artist, and It is always rewarding to see students expressing themselves creatively through different techniques, styles, and media.
New Boys Golf Coach
Chris Young, a PGA Professional and General Manager at Fairways of Woodside, is the new boys golf coach for KM. Chris played golf throughout high school, which inspired a love for the game that has driven his career. He particularly enjoys mentoring golfers to develop their technique and share in the daily improvement that comes from those efforts. Chris and his family recently moved to Dousman and look forward to being part of the KM Community. "We are lucky to have found a quality candidate with an extensive background in the sport of golf," said AD Ryan Tomczyk. "We are excited for the future and believe Coach Young is an individual that our student-athletes will gravitate toward for positive instruction!"
