Perform Film-Focus Students competed with their original, self-produced film, Doom Scroll, winning top honors for the teen category at the WPL Film Festival. We are incredibly proud of these amazing young writers, directors, cinematographers, editors, actors, and musicians. Special thanks to Scott Curty for acting as artist in residence on this project and providing equipment and guidance. KM Showcase Well Attended
The KM Showcase featured all of our K-12 Schools, along with many clubs, sports teams, and activities, in an open house environment. It was a great opportunity for families to explore the high school and speak with administrators, staff, and students about educational experiences.
This year's Showcase saw a slight dip in attendance, but was very successful in drawing an increasing number of non-residents interested in open enrollment. Among the 70+ families who responded they would be participating, only 17 had students attending KM schools! This shows growing interest in school choice and speaks to KM's reputation of providing exceptional quality and opportunity. Why does this matter? In an environment of declining enrollment (fewer children and an aging population) in our KM Community, open enrollment brings a percentage of that per pupil funding into the district. This helps to offset some of the reduction in resident student population.

Children participate in a variety of play-based activities to assess communication, gross and fine motor skills, social/ emotional development, and pre-academic skills. Host Families Needed
Foreign exchange students need host families for the 25-26 school year. We have a girl, Ines 16, from Argentina who loves movies, reading, travel, writing, horseback riding, cross country skiing and all things active and outdoors. We also have a boy, Ludwig 16, who enjoys pop music, pets, reading, and sporting events. He plays basketball, soccer and tennis and loves American football. The students' families pay all expenses and provide their medical insurance. Our students speak English and want to learn about America. MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS
Healthy & Active Lifestyles raised $750 for Hope to Walk, allowing them to purchase three prosthetic legs which were recently fitted for amputees in an underdeveloped country. When a prosthesis is given to a person, we explain to him or her that the leg is a gift from the donating person or group and mark the leg accordingly. KMMS has allowed these recipients to stand and walk with dignity and HOPE and improve their quality of life. Seventy percent of Hope To Walk’s patients are able to return to work again. They are also able to care for themselves and their families and be part of their communities. Thank you to Mrs. Weske and Mrs. Pasternak for organizing this fundraiser.
KMMS Boys Volleyball
We are currently recruiting students for the Kettle Moraine Middle School Boys Volleyball program's Spring 2025 season. Sign up by March 7th to guarantee your spot on the team. The schedule for the season is linked on the sign up form and includes games against Arrowhead as well as a conference tournament. This is a great opportunity to join a successful middle school and high school program and gain valuable skills under coaches Van Dyke (current high school varsity coach) and Gulak (varsity coach 2002-2021). Ski Team at State
The girls took 3rd overall in Division 1 against 22 teams! Top finishers (150 racers) were: Slalom – Allison Belt 7th and Monica Wawrzyn - 8th, GS – Monica Wawrzyn 12th and Allison Belt 13th, Super G – Monica Wawrzyn - 11th. This earned Monica Wawrzyn 8th place and Allison Belt 12th place overall. The boys took 12th overall. Theo Johnson was a top finisher in SL with 13th place. Monica Wawrzyn and Allison Belt were named to team Wisconsin and will represent our state in the High School Nationals at Grand Targhee resort in Wyoming in March.
Finnatics at State
Congratulations to our KM Finnatics who finished 21st out of 89 teams last weekend at State with a total of 371 inches! We fell short of our goal by one pike and five bass, but the team did well in bluegill: 4th out of 89 teams; 82 inches perch: 10th out of 89 teams; 91 inches crappie: 22nd out of 89 teams; 102.25 inches pike: 33rd out of 89 teams; 95.75 inches. Three team members also attained Master Angler status, out of 254 students throughout the state; Austin Weber; finished 27th with 11 fish and 288” Bradan Hegemann-Lindau; finished 38th with 7 fish and 196” Jayden Hitchcock; finished 65th with 6 fish and 119.25.” Thanks to Coach Jeff Klamik, who has helped lead our team to victory for more than 8 years, you will be missed!

Fall 2025 Youth boys and girls volleyball season: Boys and girls entering grades 5-8 in the fall of 2025 are eligible to participate in the league. Practices are held twice per week August-October with league play on the weekends in the GMYVB League. Tryouts will be held 5/15/25 and 5/19/25 from 6:30-8:30pm at the KMHS Gym. Students entering grades 1-4 in the fall of 2025 are encouraged to join our mini league on Friday nights for volleyball instruction, fun and games.
