Kindergarten students in Mrs. Skrettas class worked with Mrs. Yaeger’s high school art students on a monster project that improved storytelling through art and collaboration. Kindergarteners used their imaginations to create and draw monsters. Then, they wrote stories about them and shared their ideas with their buddies. The high school students brought these monsters to life and came back to give the students their monsters and share a really fun storytelling event. Shredding Event Fundraiser Tomorrow at the UPS Store!
The UPS Store in Delafield will be hosting a fundraising event for the Booster Club on Saturday, April 27 from 10 AM to 1 PM at Nagawaukee Shopping Center parking lot. Participants may drop off 10 lbs. of shredding at no cost. Each additional pound of shredding may be accepted with a minimum $1.50 per pound suggested donation. We can shred office paper and file folders. We cannot shred cardboard, plastics, hazardous materials, CDs/DVDs, x-rays, common trash, magnetic media, computers & accessories. Please join us for this fun-filled local event!

Sign Up for Summer Academy!!
Summer Academy is a great way to keep students busy, learning, and growing throughout the summer. There are many exciting offerings for every grade level, from games, to outdoor exploration, dinosaur mania, fishing and many more. Courses are open to district residents at no charge. Non-Residents can take courses for a fee. Students can choose four courses per day (with the exception of Moving on to Kindergarten). There are two sessions lasting six weeks total. Session one will run June 17-July 3 and session two will run July 8-July 26. Students can attend the full six weeks or choose to do one session only if preferred. NATIONAL HISTORY DAY (NHD) STATE CHAMPIONS!!!
Emma Manion and Krin Blegen, both from HS2, created a documentary titled "The Repeal of the Fairness Doctrine: An Irreversible Turning Point in American Media." This is their third State Championship. Avery G. and Faye M. from Kettle Moraine Middle School also took home a State Title with their documentary, "The Rocking Turning Point to the Fall of the Berlin Wall." Approximately 500,000 students participate in NHD, with 10,000 from Wisconsin. This is an incredible honor for these girls and our district. All four students are now qualified for the national competition in Washington, D.C. at the University of Maryland

Cushing Garden
Our Cushing garden is looking so much better thanks to some AMAZING volunteers! Over the past two Saturdays, parents & children pulled weeds, cleared out the garden beds, and gave our garden a new lease on life. We're excited for the learning that will take place outside of our classroom walls!
ENROLL IN KM 4 AND 5K NOW!!! The open enrollment window closes on 4/30 and it is important to apply and secure a spot before it re-opens in summer, as enrollment is first-come, first-served. We also need district residents to enroll in 4K so we can meet your choice of schools and accommodate wrap care requests. There is no need to enroll in KM 5K if your child was in KM 4K this year. Kindergarten in the Kettle Moraine school district is truly a magical experience and we have many wonderful options to meet the needs of young learners and their busy families. Our 4/5K programming builds a strong foundation for lifelong learning and connects families to our school district. Soccer for All
Drew E., Nolan J., and Larson S., guided by Mr. Gutbrod, embarked on a unique STEM project to make soccer more inclusive. Inspired by Mr. Gutbrod's idea, they developed "Soccer for All," aiming to create accessible versions of the game. Testing their prototypes with Mr. Burac's 5th-grade PE classes, they received feedback to refine their designs. Their project not only created new ways to play soccer but also fostered inclusivity and innovation in their school community. The project was featured at the KMMS Showcase which shows the transformative potential of youth-led innovation. Stay tuned for an upcoming Capturing KM on this exciting event!

HS^2 students Amelia P., Reagan K., and Kirby R. competed at the state Speech Festival put on by the Wisconsin Interscholastic Speech and Dramatic Arts Association. Reagan earned a silver medal in the solo acting humorous category, and Kirby and Amelia earned gold medals in oratory and poetry, respectively.

Girls Basketball Camp: For grades 3-8 will be offered June 10-13 with Coach Stranc. Join the high school coaching staff and players for a week long camp focusing on many offensive and defensive fundamentals with plenty of competitions.
KM Girls Basketball Club offers State Champ Camp: Players who want to bring their game to the next level and learn what it takes to become a State Champ. This will be an advanced level camp for all age levels so previous experience with competitive basketball is strongly recommended. K-2 Girls Basketball Camp- Coaches by Mr. J. Bestor, with help from high school and middle school players. Campers will have fun practicing basic basketball skills with daily skill challenges.
