Wales Winter Conference Sign Ups are now live!

We will be hosting sign ups on Thursday, February 12th and Friday, February 13th. 

Click on the link above, then on your individual classroom teacher to sign up for a time.

Explore conferences will be happening as usual. If you would like to touch base with your Explore teacher, please send them an email to get something scheduled.

Our utmost concern at pick-up time is safety. This means we need all staff, students and parents/guardians adhering to laid out procedures and taking things slow. Please review the following pick up expectations with your child to ensure everyone gets home safely.

Front Door Pick Up - Should be reserved for our neighborhood families and once-in-a-while quick pick-ups. Grown ups should wait for their students behind the flag pole to keep the sidewalks clear for our bus kids.

Back Door Pick Up - Students should enter on the driver's side only. Entering on the passenger's side puts kids' safety at risk. When pulling out to go around a car please do so extremely slowly. This helps ensure safety for staff and students. 

Bus - Students must remain seated at all times. Students should keep their hands and feet to themselves. Failure to follow these rules will result in a suspension from the bus. 

Science Day!

Science Day this year is on Thursday, March 26th. For those of you new to Science Day - it is a really fun day where students in both Wales an Explore participate in 30-40 minute long presentations by different community members that all involve SCIENCE! 

Some examples from the past have been presentations that included - 
Live animals 
Color Mixing
Mummification 
Environmental Sciences
Engineering
Chemistry
Medical Professionals
Cooking

If you, or someone you know, is involved with a science-related field and would like to share your passion with our students on this day, please email Mrs. Schultz at schultzr@kmsd.edu. We welcome you come with a prepared presentation, or are happy to work with you to come up with a fun and creative way to present to our students. 

Family Fun Night - SAVE THE DATE

This year's Family Fun Night will take place on Friday, May 15th from 5pm - 8pm.

5th Grade Graduation

Calling all 5th grade families! We are gearing up for the end of the year to make your child's last year at Wales and Explore the best one yet! To help us do so, please send a baby picture of your 5th grader directly to Mrs. Schultz at schultzr@kmsd.edu. 

A few requests - 
**This picture will be shared in our yearbook displayed at graduation. Please make sure it is appropriate for public view.
**Ideally, the picture should be from when your child was between 3 months and 2 years old
**No other people in the picture, please. We would like a photo of just your child.

Save the Date!-- A CHANGE FOR WALES!

A small 5th grade event recognizing our kids moving on to middle school will be held in the evening Tuesday, May 26th for KM Explore and Wednesday May 27th for Wales. More info to come as the time gets closer.

Please be sure to double check the school that you are purchasing your child's yearbook from. Wales and Explore have separate yearbooks and we are unable exchange them for the opposite school once they are purchased.

After School Spanish - Interested in your student learning SPANISH in 2026?

Get ready for an exciting semester beginning in February! Our theme, ¡Vamos a Explorar!, brings culture and hands-on learning to life as students “explore” Panamá City, sing lively songs, play interactive games, and act out everyday scenarios like visiting the mall and their neighborhood. Youth Dance Clinic

Attention K-8th Graders: Come learn a fun Hip Hop Routine with the KM Varsity Dance Team on Monday, February 9th from 5-7pm with a performance at halftime for the Varsity Girls Basketball Game on Tuesday, February 10th. KM Spring Volleyball Clinic offered

Students in grades 4-8 are invited to join us Friday nights March-May at KM High School for skill development and game play.  Whether you are new to volleyball or looking to sharpen your skills, the clinic provides a positive and engaging learning experience.  Conducted by KM Varsity volleyball players and coaches.  Register online at this link

American Sign Language class offered

Emphasizes basic expressive and receptive conversational skills through active student participation.
