Wales Elementary/ KM Explore

SHOWING DRAGON PRIDE!

We are always proud of all of our students, but wanted to showcase our 2nd graders this week...

Second Grade has been focusing on Community and specifically how we can help improve our community. So 2nd and 3rd grade students got connected with an organization called Special Spaces which creates dream bedrooms for kids with cancer. Through them and Children's Hospital, the students wrote thank you cards to all the nurses, social workers, and anyone else who helps out letting them know how much we appreciate them.

WALES ELEMENTARY CLASS PLACEMENT SURVEY FOR 26-27 SCHOOL YEAR

As we have done in past years, we are asking families to fill out this class placement survey for the 2026/2027 school year.

At Wales Elementary, we use this information, along with recommendations from teachers, to build the the most successful classes possible.

This is the place where you can voice your opinions on your child's placement for next school year.

Please note this survey is voluntary. If you feel your child does not have any needs or wants for next year's placement, you are not required to fill this out.

We ask that all surveys are completed by April 17th.

5th Grade Graduation

A small 5th grade event recognizing our kids moving on to middle school will be held in the evening Tuesday, May 26th for KM Explore and Wednesday May 27th for Wales. More info to come as the time gets closer.

Kids Heart Challenge is in full swing! Thank you for your efforts in helping to change and save lives. Many students and families have already completed Finn's Mission - THANK YOU! Ready to jump in? Here's how your family can help save lives:

1) Sign Up for Kids Heart Challenge

2) Be a hero:
Send 10 texts TODAY to help save lives.

3) Complete Finn's Mission:
Complete all 7 steps, learn Hands-Only CPR, and be entered to win two Super Bowl LXI tickets in 2027!

We have so many students only 1-2 steps away from completing Finn's Mission - most of which are watching two 1-minute videos.

Please remember you can opt NO for Social Media and still get credit for that step.

Don't forget - every time we have 18 Finn's Mission complete our school is entered to win $10,000 compliments of the NFL

Registration is NOW OPEN for Junior Lasers Football!

Early Bird Registration: Now – May 1

Late Registration May 2 – July 16 (+$50). Sign up early to ensure you receive your personalized Player Pack.

K-4th Grade: Flag Football

Early Bird Registration: $275

The season will run from August through October.

Players will be randomly placed on teams that are balanced by grade-level.

Teams will end their season with an “Under the Lights” game on Vock Field.

We will need coaches, especially for the K-2 division. Sign up in SportsEngine for this rewarding opportunity!

NEW THIS YEAR! 5th- 8th Grade: Girls Flag Football

Early Bird Registration: $275

Last year, we had an all girls team at the 3rd & 4th grade level. There is so much interest, we are going to expand our girls flag program!

Team design will be determined based on enrollment.

We are currently reaching out to local schools to have other girls teams to play.

The season will likely run from August through October.

If you’re interested, you can register right away. If you are still deciding or want more information, you can fill out this Girls Flag - Interest Form.

5th- 8th Grade: Tackle Football

Early Bird Registration: $450

The season will run from August through October.

There will be 1-2 teams per grade, depending on enrollment.

Zumba+ lift

All the fun of Zumba® with resistance training mixed in!

Zumba + Lift® blends the fun, low-impact dance fitness you love with simple strength training using light weights (about 5–10 lbs, though, this is up to you and your fitness level). We will alternate between Zumba® routines and dumbbell weight training throughout the entire class to build strength in our major muscle groups. Start with the weights that you feel comfortable with, and add additional weight over time. Please bring your own set of weights, either 2, 5, or 10 lbs.
