TOMORROW is...

Science Day

Tomorrow is our Science Day sponsored by the PTO!!! All students will be participating in various sessions that are science-related. The end of the day will have a building-wide assembly to wrap things up. This is a day students look forward to each year and we are so excited to be able to provide it!

This year, KM Global High School Senior Adeline, helped to coordinate the day. We are so grateful for her hard work and dedication to bringing Science Education to our students in a fun and engaging way!

Here are a few things you need to know about science day -

1) Students will be eating in their classrooms. Therefore, tomorrow's lunches MUST be nut-free. Our hot lunch will already be a nut-free option.

2) Some students will be going outside as a part of their sessions. Please pack appropriate clothes for the weather for your student.

3) Ask your student what they did at the end of the day! They should be full of scientific knowledge!

WALES CLASS PLACEMENTS FOR 25/26 SCHOOL YEAR

The following letter was sent via email last week. This is the way you, as parents and guardians, have input on your child's class placement for next year. Please read it carefully and respond accordingly if you would like input.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Families,

Over the next few weeks, we will begin the process of assigning students to an appropriate class for next year. The Wales staff spend much time and effort on this placement process. In putting together class lists for next year, we will consider many factors including boy/girl ratios, personalities, academic performance and student behavior. We utilize the classroom teacher’s knowledge of every student, and in addition, our academic support teachers, specialists, counselor and administrator provide input and review the proposed class lists.

Please understand that once homeroom teachers are assigned and students are placed, the lists are final. We will move a student only if it is an oversight on our part during the placement process. Moving even one child from a class can upset the balance of a classroom or interfere with scheduling.

Students approach the new school year in a positive light when we encourage them to be excited about making new friends and getting to know a new teacher. We welcome your input as we begin this process; you can complete this form to share any thoughts and suggestions for your child. We must receive ALL parent input forms by May 2, 2025.

Thank you for your help and understanding in our classroom placement process.

Sincerely,

Jen Balzer
Wales Principal
