EXPLORE'S K-5 WEEKLY FOCUS

Climb Every Mountain: Our October Theme in Action

This week, our entire school community launched into our new monthly theme: “Climb Every Mountain.”

We introduced students to the idea that everyone faces their own unique challenges — their own "mountains" — and that we all climb them in different ways. Some of us move quickly, others take a slower, more careful path, and sometimes we take unexpected routes altogether. What matters most is that we keep climbing!

To put this into practice, students were invited to choose their own learning challenge — a skill or activity they could work to improve. Some chose to build card houses, testing patience and precision. Others tackled tricky rebus puzzles, sharpened focus on detailed coloring pages, or picked other hands-on challenges that stretched their thinking.

It was wonderful to watch students embrace the opportunity to grow in areas they’re passionate about, all while supporting and encouraging one another along the way.

Ask your child about the “mountain” they chose this week — and maybe even share one of your own!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION/UPDATES

school bus

Transportation for 2026-2027: Explore students, within the district boundaries, will be offered bussing starting in the 2026-2027 school year. Bussing will follow our KMOR which states a bus stop will be within .3 miles of your house. Actual bus routes and times will not be known until August 2026.

Application: This year, with all the changes, I am asking all current Explore families to fill out this quick application. Current families will be guaranteed a spot in Explore if the application is completed by Jan. 31, 2026. If you know your family will not be attending Explore next year, please send me an email stating you are not returning. This will help our school track enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year. Thank you!
